My son was admitted on January 4th due to severe abdominal pain, and discharged on jan 6th. He had been having recurring continuous abdominal pain since December 13th, well on the 4th he also threw up very small amout due to severe pain and one day of diarrhea. The doctor heard threw up, diarrhea, abdominal pain, it HAS to be stomach flu, so he can hold food down send him home. They wouldn't listen to me about how long this has gone on and that its not the stomach flu. We are going on 3 months of stomach pain and are now being tested for celiac disease. Those doctors won't listen to your concerns and will just try to push you out the door. The nurses on the other hand were fantastic but those doctors need to find a new career since they dont care to listen to their patients and figure out the actual problem. Also when he was discharged he was still in a good amount of pain. I will never ever take any of my kids to this hospital or recommend it to anyone else. I will go to children's in little rock before I go here again.

We just left this children’s hospital, and the experience was awful. Everyone tells you something different, and many staff members simply do not care. Some nurses are actually great — I truly wish I had gotten their names — but others are cruel, hateful, and spiteful. On 1/17/2026 at around 3:00 AM, we were discharged, and the nurse who was with us for most of the night was extremely mean, inconsiderate, and unprofessional. She was also very clearly sick the entire time — coughing, congested, and visibly unwell. Why is a nurse who is sick allowed to work directly with babies? And why is a sick nurse caring for a 5-month-old infant with a weak immune system? That alone is insane and unacceptable. She did not care to explain how nasal suctioning would be done. We clearly told her to try gently, and if there was a lot of mucus then fine — but if not, we did not consent to aggressive suctioning. She ignored us and forced it on our son anyway. We were yelling at her to stop, and she did not stop. Our baby began choking, and she said it was “okay” while we were pleading with her to stop. He didn’t even have more than a tablespoon of mucus. This was terrifying and completely unacceptable. Our son is 5 months old. We had to ask two other nurses what was going on because our assigned nurse wasn’t even checking on our baby. Our son had a fever of 101.7, and we begged for acetaminophen. Because he was vomiting, we specifically requested the suppository form, which the front desk nurse told us was better in that situation. When our nurse finally came to give it, we again asked for the suppository. We also asked how long it would take to work, and she told us 1–2 hours, which made us extremely anxious. That information was wrong — it worked much faster — and she made us nervous for no reason. When it was time to go home, we waited over an hour for discharge papers. She never came. We had to track her down, and she told us she wanted to take another patient upstairs first and then come back to discharge us. Because of this, we didn’t leave until 3:00 AM, even though we could have been gone by 1:00 AM. Our baby was in pain and uncomfortable the entire time. This hospital is also very dirty. It does not seem to be cleaned often, and everything feels chaotic and disorganized. We are from California, and children’s hospitals there are nothing like this. With the amount of funding this hospital has, why is it not treated better, and why is the care so poor? I don’t know the nurse’s name, but I would like to file a complaint against her. She worked the overnight shift ending around 3:00 AM on 1/17/2026. To make matters worse, a nurse practitioner who was also visibly sick came into our room without wearing a mask. He was sniffling and had visible nasal discharge. Our son was already sick — why would a provider do that and risk exposing a baby to more illness? This entire experience was traumatic, stressful, and unacceptable. No parent should be treated this way, and no baby should go through this.

My daughter is currently on Day 3 after a spinal fusion, and while many of the staff have been kind, I need to share a very concerning experience from last night. At 3:35 AM, a nurse knocked extremely hard on the door, came in abruptly, and immediately turned on the brightest overhead light. She drew blood from my daughter while she was asleep without explaining the reason until I asked. She briefly said it was for an H&H test. Every other lab draw has been around 5:30 AM, and the first two nights had no overnight blood draws at all, so this sudden disruption felt unnecessary, inconsistent, and completely uncommunicated. For a post-operative spinal fusion patient, rest is crucial. The approach felt rushed, inconsiderate, and lacked the compassion we expect during such a difficult recovery. I fully understand when labs are medically needed—but the way this was handled was not patient-centered. A simple explanation, a softer knock, and dim lighting would have made a huge difference. Families should not be startled awake at 3:35 AM without clear communication or regard for the patient’s comfort. I hope this encourages better overnight communication and more mindful bedside manner, especially for patients recovering from major surgery.

I started off with Dr. Fulton and now I’m with Dr. McGregor as my doctor. I’ve been coming since I was 10 and love LeBonheur for what I need to find out about my Epilepsy. I’m now 26 and personally I love it there. I easily got to know multiple people there. It’s not terribly far from home in Middle TN. I’ve had multiple surgeries and studies there and love a lot of the nurses I’ve gotten to know well.

I had to come in to this hospital by ambulance because my baby was suffering from a sepsis. It was the most scary day for me and I have to say.... As a stranger coming from Europe, this has been the best attention I have ever got in a hospital. Such friendly nurses and doctors. Kindness everywhere. The nurses and doctor explained to me everything 2 to 3 times so I can understand all well. They cared so lovingly for my little treasure and even for me. I felt save.
