Virginia Mason Medical Center

I have been a patient at Virgina Mason for over ten years. In the past few years I noticed a big difference in the type of care that I receive. Things like unhelpful staff members, doctors who never have time to see you, prescription and pre-auth. requests taking forever to process. I have had a painful out patient procedure that should not have been as painful, I have also had a misdiagnoses because someone missed something and entered in wrong information on my chart. I have reached the limit of what I can handle as a patient with VM. When I can actually get in to see my doctor, she has 30 minutes or less to speak to me. I am rushed through that appointment. Then I have to wait a month or more for pre-auths because they keep doing it incorrectly and my insurance isn't receiving it. I feel that I deserve a better experience from a hospital and a doctor. I feel more like a burden than a patient.

I was transferred to Virginia Mason Hospital for evaluation and treatment of what appeared to be a cardiac issue. The Doctors, nurses and actually Everyone involved in my care were exceptional. After several days and a few tests I was returned home with some new medicine, some referrals to Cardiologist and Gastroenterologists and much relief. Thank you everyone.. Lois

I was in town for work training and ended up dislocating my right shoulder. I was in excruciating pain. But first, I need to praise my very compassionate EMTs that brought me to the ER, Marcus & Eden, thank you for delivering me safely and quickly as possible. Thank you for your gentleness, patience and kindness. Now to ER staff. Ashley, Tine, Dr. Simons the young tech who helped me dress, and my XRay tech (sorry for not retaining your name info), you all were an absolutely amazing team. I just want you to know, from a home healthcare worker to professional healthcare workers, please know that you are seen and deeply appreciated. I slipped on ice and fractured my wrist. I am grateful for the speedy diagnosis and surgery all within 3 days. I frequent VM Kirkland and Bellevue for routine appointments; however, my surgery was completed at VM Seattle. The admitting and surgical process was excellent along with post op care. I was well cared for with kindness and respect from every staff member including my PAC, nurses and surgeon. I highly recommend Virginia Mason for all medical needs.

The ER Staff at Virginia Mason Medical Center gave rapid and effective quality care to me over the weekend. I was seen quickly and they responded with professional and kind care to make sure everything was considered. Every person from intake to transport, imaging and ER physician were helpful and informative. I felt glad they were available, since I get all my care there and each such encounter is integrated in my medical profile and available to my medical team. I recommend their services overall, excellent care!
