Grandview Medical Center

My only complaint is waiting in the emergency room from 3:00pm until 5:00 the next morning. All that disappeared when I got to the room. However, the medical care staff were great. The staff spoiled me. I would like to commend Drs. Anderson, Benn, Duddleston, and Smith. And Dr. Morales for the surgery. They were very instrumental on deciding the best care for me. Also, the medical care staff: Chance Abrams, Tamyva Walker, Lori LaBee, Emily Colburn, Taylor Robinson, SNJSCC, and others I didn’t get their names. My stay was enjoyable due to the staff.

Having woke up early one morning with severe abdominal pain...I dtove to the Hospital. I bypassed the "closest one" to me and went straight to the Grandview emergency room. I went back quickly. I have to say the emergency room staff was EXCELLENT. From the wonderful intake employee to the vitals nurse...all the way through to the attending nurses and physician...I was cared for. I was diagnosed quickly, and was scheduled for a procedure immediately to insure I was fine. Stayed overnight and was treated well throughout the process. Thanks to everyone for the care and help HIGHLY recommend!!!!!

Pre-op thru recovery was apparently good. The dayshift nurse and tech were attentive. PT, caseworker (?) & Hospitalist..… fine. The nightshift nurse was very busy and that tech was useless!!! 2nd day went okay except there was this & that repeatedly and I was not discharged until approx 5:30 pm and pharmacies were closed by the time I got hometown. I was given 0 council re: home meds. *** The required joint class was a joke (a bad joke). The instr. didn’t show up 🙀🤷‍♀️ & one class member said the same happened when bro. had his surgery (this led Me to believe that this could be common practice w/ no alt. in place. We were told to scan to watch the class & to ✅ that we had watched it !!! If I had it to do over, I definitely would not have checked that box ~~~ That was a lie for all of us!!! We did nothing but brag on GV the first day and saw nothing to brag about after that!!!!

I had my hip surgery here. Dr. Isbel from Southlake Orthopedics did my surgery. Everything went well on my surgery day. Five stars for my doctor, anesthesiologist and CRNA( I believe his name is Curtis). Only problem I had was when I asked the post-op nurse for crutches, she asked me “Do you need them?” Me being aware that Dr. Isabel’s protocol explicitly stated I needed to be 50% weight bearing with crutches helped me to answer “yes”. But other patients may not be aware…so some teaching is needed on her part. Other than that my experience was great considering I had surgery.

I was thoroughly impressed with the quality of care I received from Grandview Medical Center. From the moment I walked into the ED I felt cared for. Every nurse, doctor, and patient care tech who had a hand in my care was amazing! I appreciate everyone who was on my care team. I want to also thank housekeeping for keeping my room cleaned. I want to also thank dietary for the food prepared, and brought for me once I was allowed to eat. I used to work in the medical field at another local hospital. I am thankful and glad I can say that Grandview Hospital exceeded my expectations on caring for their patients. This was my first experience at Grandview Hospital. I would give 10 stars if I could! Thank you all for all of your care! I loved my Apple Cinnamon Cream of Wheat!
