We have had two different stays on the burn unit — one for ten days and another for seven. During both stays, we received some of the most amazing care. The nurses truly go above and beyond with their knowledge, compassion, comfort, and dedication. But it wasn’t just the nurses — housekeeping, nutrition services, and even the cafeteria staff were all incredible. We are so thankful for each and every one of you who made such a difficult time a little easier.

My wife is a patient at Research Medical Center. She is there for the 5th time since the end of December. They keep disappearing her and sending her home and she is home for a few days at most and then back to the hospital for the same thing. This latest visit has been a mixed bag. She was discharged on Tuesday of last week and I and the Tech had problems even getting her in the car. Then when we got home, she got out of the car but couldn't make it to the front door, so I had to call the paramedics to help her up the stairs. The once inside, she tried to get up out of her lift chair and she fell again and couldn't get up so she spent the rest of the night on the floor and in the morning, I had to have the paramedics take her back to the hospital. She was admitted again and taken to the PCU. The next day, she was moved to the ICU and spent two days there before being moved back to the PCU and then last night to the Med Surge. At this point, I want to commend the ICU Nurse, Felicia. She was awesome. Very responsive, patient and kind and a great personality. I wish she could have taken care of my wife the whole time she is there. Some of the other nurses were good. Some not so good but I don't remember their names. An issue that we had, which I consider unacceptable, is that my wife has been incontinent while in the hospital this time and she has to have the nurses clean her up. She would call for a nurse and sometimes it would be 2 hours or more until someone came in. Meanwhile, this whole time, my wife is in laying in her own feces, exposing her to skin irritation and infection. I have asked that my wife not be discharged until she is recovered enough and strong enough so that she doesn't have to come back in a couple of days.

They were ready to go when I got there and the 2 nurses in the pre op were amazing and professional. The surgery went as scheduled and when I got back to post op that nurse was keeping close eye on me to make sure that there was no bleeding and very caring and professional. I give Research Medical and all the staff that took care of me and even the lady who I checked in with was all great and I thank you all. Dan Burch

I want to leave 0 stars; but I can’t do the nurses and the staff like that. The nurses and the technicians have absolutely taken full care of me. I am so grateful for every single one of them, James, Rinee, Sal, John, and one other woman whose name is slipping my mind from the pain killers that day. Thank you so much to that nursing staff, and the techs Shandora, and Bobbi. I am so grateful for them, I really am. I was most definitely a scared baby. I don’t have family in the state and I had to have my abdomen sliced open. That was my first time having surgery, and being in so much pain. I thought my guts were going to literally fall out of my stomach. These nurse staff put up with me crying, unable to get to the bathroom by myself, keeping my pain meds in check, and always clicking that button for pain medication because I was truly a scared little baby that was probably a handful to deal with. I am so grateful for all their work. The nursing staff was all very good to me. As far as doctors, I barely saw a doctor the entire 6 days I was there. I don’t really know the full medical run down from my time here since I only saw the doctor 15 minutes worth my entire 6 day stay. I’m sure they’re busy and all but it really had me questioning the care I was in. I couldn’t eat for 4 of those days, and when I was finally able to, whoever brings the food left my first meal outside my door to get cold for 3 hours. :( Lastly; when I came in through ambulance, the security guard checked my bag and pockets, taking my nicotine vape, (understandable) He said it would be with security when I check out. When I went to check out, it was missing, lost, which it’s a vape, but again, questioning the hospitals competence if they’re losing patients belongings. Lastly, an old man in the ER pooped his pants, I guess the security man on duty at the time was nasty and rude to the elderly man about needing to use the bathroom, so my boyfriend at the time, who was just a by stander was the only one who tried to help the elderly man? I would leave 0 stars, but over all, but 5 because I am so grateful for the staff that really nursed me back to health. Especially poor James. James was the same night nurse that kept coming back days in a row to take care of me always pressing the nurse button, crying scared about pain. Thank you nursing staff. Thank you. I’m feeling great now because of your guys’s care. I hope I wasn’t too much to deal with, I was just in a lot of pain. I will remember the staff’s hard work for life during this silly little chapter of my life. Thank you guys.

I am in the best part of any hospital ive ever been in. The Grossman Burn Center at research medical is FULL of nurses and doctors who truly love and care for their patients! I feel so at home and taken care of here. Everyone from my surgeons to my doctors to my physical therapist to my hospitalist, from my charge nurses to my nurses down to the CNAs 🤗 everyone is eager to assist always wears a smile and goes above and beyond! This is my 4th stay here and it has spoiled me so much I never want to have to be put in any other hospital lol food could be better but it's not their fault they also agree with that statement 🤣 just wanted to throw it in there so maybe research will do something about the awful food and food services 🤷🏼♀️ 🫶 love you Grossman Burn Center Thank you for everything you have done for me and to save my leg!
