My friend is in their hospital for 3 days now. He had neck vertebrae surgery to relieve pressure off spinal cord. The nursing care could be a lot better. After he came out surgery it took almost 2 days to feed him. Nurses took too long in responding to patient help, sometimes almost an hour after patient help request.

Here with my mom for her surgery and the lady at Registration very very rude!! The nurse told me she would come back out and get me. Never did but everyone else got to go in the back with their loved ones. Asked the lady at the Registration desk again to go back amd get my mom's nurse again very rude!! This is suspose to be a hospital. Attitude and rudeness should definitely not be comming from your staff nor should loved ones be told one thing and not do it. I wish she didn't need this surgery so bad I definitely would NOT have her at this hospital!!

My father received life-saving ECT treatment for catatonia at MUSC, and I will always be grateful for the care he received there. While communication from some providers could be inconsistent at times, there were several staff members who made an incredibly difficult period more manageable for our family. Dr. Bey and Dr. Santos were outstanding — they took the time to answer all of my questions and truly helped guide me through a frightening and emotional experience. The nurses on the CIU floor, especially Lester, Renee, Caroline and Ashley were absolute lifelines when my dad was unable to speak for himself. Their compassion, patience, and kindness meant more than I can put into words. His PCT also stood out for consistently taking extra time with him, carefully monitoring his vitals, especially on treatment days when he was most vulnerable. My father had many other wonderful nurses who helped aid in his care, he had so many from this long stay I can’t unfortunately remember all of their names. But I am so grateful for all of you. Living 700 miles away was incredibly hard, but the staff made real efforts to help me stay connected with my dad when he couldn’t communicate on his own, and that meant everything to me. There are a few areas I hope the hospital will consider improving. The phone/Wi-Fi system frequently dropped calls, which made staying in touch more stressful than it needed to be. I also hope there can be more physical therapy staffing and flexibility in scheduling. Patients recovering from sedation sometimes missed valuable therapy sessions because therapy was scheduled too soon after treatment. Adjusting therapy times based on individual patient readiness could help people get the most out of their recovery time. Overall, I am deeply thankful to the many people at MUSC who cared for my father with skill and compassion during one of the hardest times in our lives.

Dr. Karen Keane is truly one of a kind. As a single mother and immigrant, raising a 9-year-old son with autism and ADHD can be overwhelming. Dr. Keane has been a source of calm, strength, and trust for our family. She is patient, compassionate, and always takes the time to explain things in a way I can understand. She treats my son with genuine respect and care, and under her guidance, his health has improved so much. She is not just an excellent doctor—she feels like a trusted friend. We are incredibly grateful to have her.

This practice is outstanding from start to finish. The front desk staff were welcoming, organized, and helpful. The nursing team was compassionate, thorough, and made me feel comfortable every step of the way. The doctor was knowledgeable, patient, and took the time to listen and explain everything clearly. You can tell this team genuinely cares, and the whole visit felt efficient, calm, and supportive. I’m grateful to have found such an excellent office—highly recommend.
