Never again! It was chaos the day I went to this place looking to adopt a cat that I had chosen online. What they don't tell you is that if the cat is being fostered elsewhere you are on your own. They give you a slip of paper with an email address and tell you that maybe you will get a reply if the pet is still available, but they have no information. The other cats I saw online had been adopted, so obviously no one is updating the site. I drove all the way from County Line Rd for nothing. When we decided to see the cats they had, the one we liked, had a sign saying she was available. We went back to the desk and were told we had to take another number and get back in line only to find out that she actually wasn't available due to being treated for some illness. The only helpful, courteous people there were the volunteers in the animal rooms. The employees had bad attitudes. If possible, spend the extra money and go to the Humane Society. The experience there was completely different. Very pleasant and helpful.

Beware, there is a secret angel hiding in this place. I donāt know her name yet. Younger, shorter brown skin girl in purple. Visualize your dream companion, feel the connection before you go. If you are authentic and donāt force it, YOUR dog, or furball WILL choose you. Little angels can help š„°. Whole staff is on point, everyone is compassionate and flexible. Manager Jerry, a real approachable solid Hue-man. Stop hesitating, your best friend is waiting for you!! Also, donāt force a name š, connect to your pet, it will come organically. ā¼ļøā ļøTo the public: PLEASE use common sense their lives depend on it. Donāt bring bottle babies and expect 2-hour feeds at an overloaded shelter. Thereās no one there to do that and they WILL get euthanized! please foster them or connect with a rescue. If a kitten is severely injured or not doing too well, go to an emergency vet. A packed shelter is NOT an ICU. Donāt be shocked if a critical animal is euthanized when there isnāt a bottle feeder or surgeon on deck. I truly feel like some of yāall want to get the credit for helping the animals when youāre NOT actually helping. Helping them wouldāve been fostering them or taking them to the vet. Not to a shelter to get euthanized. Take bottle babies or injured/sick cats to overcrowded and understaffed shelter? ā Foster the babies and take injured/sick cats to emergency vet? ā thatās actually helping. Side note if you actually want to help sign up to Foster, sign up to volunteer, sign up to walk the dogs or TNR your community cats. Anyone can leave a bad review, but please actually do something about it and help the animals ā¼ļøā ļø For the shelter: Iāve visited Miami-Dade Animal Services twice. First time, the customer service was rough and nobody seemed sure who owned what task. Second time, I left in tears. There were two red plastic boxes sitting outside in direct sun at noon. (Someone had abandoned them) I only realized they had cats inside, panting and hyperventilating, when someone mentioned it. I immediately brought the boxes into the TNR room. Staff were irritated with me at first, then backed off when it was clear these cats were in danger. I get it: the team is over capacity, understaffed, and neck-deep in hard cases. But that canāt be an excuse for no basic triage. Simple fixes would help: ⢠A shaded/covered drop-off spot, clearly marked. ⢠A bell/camera at TNR intake and someone assigned to check it frequently including the security guard who was literally standing right next to the boxes. ⢠Clear training so any staffer/volunteer knows to move animals out of heat immediately. Bottom line: I want this shelter to win. But the customer service and safety protocols need work. Do better, for the animals and the people trying to help them.

Such a Special Place I absolutely love this place. The people here are so kind, passionate, and truly dedicated to helping animals find the loving homes they deserve. Every time I visit, I see beautiful pets just waiting for a second chanceāand itās clear how much care and effort goes into making sure theyāre healthy, safe, and matched with the right families. Iāve come here multiple times to adopt and foster, and each experience has been amazing. You can feel the love and commitment the staff and volunteers have for every single animal. If youāre thinking about adopting or fostering, this is definitely the place to go. They truly make a difference!
