Maricopa County Animal Care and Control - West Valley Shelter

All good. Very nice facility, excellent staff and volunteers. Behind counter staff were wonderful. They answered all my numerous questions. Animals well cared for. After looking at hundreds of dogs at 3 different facility my 1st visit there, up and down every kennel I saw a dog that I felt a strong connect with even though she made no effort to approach me. I went to desk and asked about her history. They gave me all the info they had from the family that surrendered her. I went outside and researched the breed. Her adoption fee was much lower because of her being 5. I ended up not feeling I had enough, but could not get her out of my mind. It was love at 1st site for Kiley. I went back 2 days later , after our meet and greet went so well I adopted her. She had to stay to be spayed the next morning. I picked her up that eve. They gave me gift bag with dry dog food. Her total cost to me including pain med was $ 64. The deal of a lifetime. They chipped her, gave her all her shot including rabies and sent for her license to be mailed to me plus provided antibiotics for 7days, all at no cost to me.i really appreciated all the info they sent home with me and their text with link to so much good info . I also got coupons and Pets Mart gave me a coupon book for many of their services. Thanks to the shelter a got a free vet visit the week after bringing her home. The vet was great so now she's established and I the vetsaid she's a very healthy dog. Many Thanks to this shelter for providing me with such a positive experience and the outcome the most beautiful, intelligent, loving dog ever.

The shelter is so clean. It really didn't even smell like dog. The staff was very nice, professional and knowledgeable. I adopted a beautiful 2 year old dog. The entire adoption and spaying process was explained perfectly.

I adopted my dog from here and its been a joy to have him as part of our family. The only thing I wish was different about this place was that they had more information on him, like where he came from, his accurate age & breed etc. I also wish that the shelter was more clean as well.

We came to adopt. We looked at one. He had a bad cough. The girl said if we look at another one that someone else could adopt him while we checked out the other dog. She told us the second dog was adoptable. I asked another lady and she said no that dog was already adopted yesterday. So we almost lost the chance of bringing our boy home. Thank God I asked the Second Lady. I would say make sure all the employees are well informed. But we are glad we came here and have Ziggy
