Beware of this shelter And SPCA of TN I Offered to foster the Rottie with 13 puppies and was met with very unorganized processes, Rude coordinators and invasive questions from both Donny and Celina with Spca of Tennessee. The funny thing about it is y’all want fosters but then make it nearly impossible for someone to meet your expectations in order to foster. A lot of these are stray dogs, they do not belong to you. You chose to pick them up and claim them as property. Then put them in a shelter where you were going to euthanize them after 8 days. Then perfectly capable fosters offer to help and are met with ridiculous questions like wanting to know why I have a 970 area code when I lived in Crossville for nine years. That’s actually none of your business and has nothing to do with me being an excellent foster. Why was that even a question? And when I questioned it and stated I felt it was an invasion of privacy y’all HUNG up on me! Wow I hope you’ve got a line out the door ready to take on 13 puppies because that’s how you treated me. You treat these intakes like emergencies, and when people step up in an emergency, all of a sudden you’ve got an Application process. My husband put together a 10 x 10 stall with a whelping box on the fly to accommodate. Then you block me on social media…. Because I share my experience which I’m SURE so many others have had the same treatment. Because of you, another dog will die. Y’all really should do better or better yet just don’t do it at all.

My experience at the Memphis animal shelter Was amazing. Everybody was so informative about the animals and their behaviors. I ended up choosing a cat and I kept his name McNugget. He is beautiful sweet great with all my other pets. It took him two days to get adjusted fully. He’s very energetic he likes going outside but not getting too far away from me very playful. It was a great addition to our family.

The employees are kind and helpful, and the Found Foster program is great for anyone that finds a dog or cat in the community and that is willing to foster. MAS provides medical care, vaccinations, microchips, and supplies for fostered pets and for owners needing assistance. Fosters are always needed, and fostering with intent to adopt is a great way to get to know a pet before adopting.

I have adopted from MAS 2 different occasions totaling 3 dogs and I am glad I came back. My new babies are healthy, still being babies. They took to our house very well and the dogs all get along. I highly recommend Memphis Animal Services to adopt a dog.

We adopted our newest dog (brown and white dog in image) from MAS and were very pleased with the process. They made it very easy to go through with the adoption process; setting up meet and greets and filling out the paperwork. Everyone at the front desk was super friendly and had all of the animals best interests in mind. Will definitely adopt from here again!
