DO NOT use this company. My father in law took out a policy about 30-35 years ago right after marrying his second wife. He actually completely forgot about it to the degree that once he had kids a few years later, he did not update the policy. Fast forward 30 + years. His wife who has never had a job and his bum youngest son (over 30 years old) who always lived off of him. Convince him to sell his home for money they can live off of and move to dallas. He had dementia at this point. Not long after agreeing to sell and move with them they forced him out of his home, call the police on him and tell them he is nuts. He was locked in a Dallas psych ward until they finally let me get him 2 weeks later. After that myself and my husband (his oldest son) began taking care of him. The same wife sold the dallas house and tried to keep all the money but we stopped her, made her give him his half and that money was used for his nursing care till he died. The wife had him served with divorce papers a few months before dying because “she wanted to protect the money she had.” A family member told us about a letter from kansas city life. My husband was my father in laws medical POA and POA something we had to do to deal with the divorce, pay off finances etc. These were drafted by an attorney who specializes in that. All banks, judges, everyone accepted these. We reached out to Kansas City and found out he never updated the policy after getting it so his ex wife and her sons (who have zero relationship with my FIL and not blood related) are the beneficiaries. We sent them the POA, and the finalized divorce. They came back and said no you cannot change his beneficiaries, they refused to pay it out. My husband and I held my father in law while he died a few months later. No one else was there. The wife and other son never saw him again after the day they made him homeless a couple years before he died. After he provided for both of them for 30 years. Kansas city live knew all of this. We found out later that they sent a letter to the ex wife and ex step sons. The ex wife even claims they allowed her to apply and receive the money for all 3 of them. Even the federal government accepted our POA bc it was made before his dementia got severe. Makes me sick this company gave his ex wife his life insurance despite getting all legal documents and knowing all that was done. DO NOT use this company if you want the benefit paid out to your loved ones.

If you are thinking of using this company run the other way. I submitted to close out my policy and started in the middle of September and received notification on October 1st along with paper work to fill out and mailed all paperwork back October 3rd. to this date November 3rd i have not received my check.

I would give no stars if I could. They declined pretty much every dental visit I had for years, forcing me or my dentist to resubmit. They seem to operate as if their profit margin is attained by how many folks they can beat into submission prior to paying out a dollar.

You took money out of my account before I even got a quote what kind of insurance company does that take over 545. Dollars out my account with no idea what it is you might not read this but maybe someone else will

If you have disability insurance with this company, do yourself a favor and cancel the policy as soon as you can. You are way better off with no coverage at all. You have to go through mountains of nonsense to get the benefits you actually paid for, and if you do get them to pay on your disability, they want you to pay it back. Very horrible company. I gave them one star, because I couldn’t put a zero. Steer clear of this company at all costs.
