I had the most awful experience with a medical provider and clinic I've had in a very long time at The Doctor's Office today with Dr. Sanjay Rajpara and his office staff! I made this appointment to get a disabled placard form completed and arrived with the form that required only the doctor's signature, a check in a box, and clinic information. I was told by office staff there was a fee for completing forms. I said that was illegal, medical providers cannot charge for eligibility forms or charge over what they bill insurance. The staff person said I would have to talk with the doctor about that. While I was in the waiting area, office staff came out with my supporting documents to inform me that the doctor doesn't do Social Security forms. Dumbfounded, I told her those documents are from Social Security and they provide the information the doctor needs to sign the DMV form I brought in. She said again I would need to talk with the doctor. When I was brought back to the exam room and Dr. Sanjay came in, we discussed medications and referrals. He asked why I hadn't followed up with referrals,. I told him the providers were still waiting for supporting documents from their office. When I tried to find emails I had sent to their referral coordinator, he said there wasn't time. Then we discussed the DMV form I had for him to sign. He said there would be a fee. I said it's illegal to charge me for that. Dr. Sanjay said he just works there and I'd have to take that up with the clinic owner. I asked if he was a licensed physician and he said he was. I stated he needs to know then that it is illegal to charge me for the form. Then Dr. Sanjay said he doesn't do that form, and I told him that it's him, my primary, who is required to complete it. This is a form that doctors complete all the time. Dr. Sanjay insisted he can't sign, saying the NP who saw me there before hadn't made a note relating to disability. I responded that we had discussed the issue. I had several injuries and a long medical history related to disability, a service dog, and we had already discussed some symptoms and issues related to my disabilities during both this visit and my previous visits with the NP. I reiterated that everything needed was in the disability determination documents I provided. I then attempted to call my UCSD doctors to see if they could quickly provide further disability documentation to The Doctor's Office. Dr. Sanjay walked out of the room. I was on the phone with my UCSD doc's staff, crying, when an older woman came in the room and told me to leave. I continued on the phone and explained my other doctor could send something and I wasn't done with my appointment, the doctor had just walked out on me. She began yelling, and Dr. Sanjay was yelling at her to take my phone away from me. The older woman said if I didn't leave she would call the police so I told her she could do that, but she said she wasn't going to do that. She and Dr. Sanjay were yelling and I told them to calm down and reiterated that what they were doing was wrong. The older woman told a younger staff person to bring the next patient in the room! She came back with a male patient, they walked right into the private exam room where I was still seated on the exam table, crying. I again said what they were doing was illegal. The male patient had the nerve to tell me he's there for his appointment. I told him that the way they are treating him is also illegal, they cannot bring him in the room with me. He left the room, but the older staff person stayed there yelling at me and yelling back and forth with Dr. Sanjay. I continued talking on my phone with the UCSD medical staff person and arranged to be seen there instead. I left the office and proceeded to file formal complaints. All of this, from the fees for forms to the rude and dehumanizing treatment of patients and ignorance regarding forms and documentation, to their patient privacy violations is illegal. What an awful group of people pretending to be caring medical professionals!

The lady who saw me was very kind however they were supposed to set up stat referrals for me which means expedited and here I am a week later still waiting for them to fax the referrals , they never answer the phone, they always assure you they have things resolved and they never do no follow up nothing she even wanted to schedule me for another appointment about the same thing we discussed on the first visit and it was nicotine patches how many appointments do you need for that ??? I have actually been on hold with them for 16 minutes right now just trying to talk to someone I’m extremely disappointed. So today I spent an hour on hold to get to caller number 2 before giving up I guarantee Imy next lunch break will be wasted on finding a different provider this is absolutely unacceptable

Yacinda is extremely rude today when I came in for my appt that they told me yesterday to come in today at 1:30pm… I called yesterday to setup a telephone appt with my doctor to get result and tell her something that was going on…because of what else was happening the nurse I spoke to asked if I could come in at 11:45am I said I can’t because my partner is at work, what about tomorrow (aka today) at 1:30pm said ok…. Well today when the office reopened after lunch at 1:30… by the way, no one told me that they were closed for lunch so I came about 15 minutes early like you’re supposed to and had to wait at the Starbucks and purchased something to be able to sit while I wait. Go to the office and Yacinda was at the front desk she comes around the corner still finishing up her lunch that’s fine, but her phone is still playing the show. She was watching as I am checking in. She still made sure her phone was sitting upright so she could see it as I check in. I gave her my name. She doesn’t understand because she still finishing chewing and said oh we’re just getting back from lunch. Regive her my name, for her to say, I miss my appointment yesterday and a very rude tone because I was obviously interrupting her lunch. She got her neck going and had an attitude so I matched her energy. Because she’s accusing me of something I did not do because obviously someone else messed up yesterday because they had me come in less than 24 hours after I called them to set up a telephone appointment. So the fact that they had me come in, I’m thinking it’s something more serious. I am waiting for my blood work results for the doctor to call me to tell me what’s going on as of right now my white blood cell count is in the 13,000s…. but was told it’s not that serious and that they’re gonna cancel my appointment today because of my attitude, even though they messed up and then she decided to actually apologize slightly to my partner, not even me because she realized she messed up, and my partner also caught her in a lie. She is a liar. She is not professional. I have not had somebody make fun of my neck and my hand movement when I was talking since I was in high school. Clearly, she is a bully and she’s used to lying to the senior elderly patients that they take care of saying that they missed their appointment even though the office messed up or she did!!!! She’s extremely rude and I will not speak to her if I ever come back into this office. My doctor is very kind so that’s the only reason why I put up with her before but not anymore!!! Doctors you need to fire her and have someone come in who actually cares about the patients. I thought I was going to find out bad news today, then to be told go home. The doctor will call you. How messed up is that even though you told me to come in today. She is a very unkind person and heartless, and if she wants to have an attitude, she needs to go somewhere else because she should not be in the medical field Whatever her position is!!!!

Dr. Shirish is one of the kindest and most professional doctors I’ve ever met. He made me feel at ease, listened carefully, and explained everything in a clear and caring way. Truly grateful for his excellent care!
