This place is under funded, poorly managed & under staffed. LAGMC is a level 1 trauma center and really great at saving your life in an emergency situation, and then really poor at everything else. We experienced an absolute crazy town, avoid at all costs if you can get to Cedars instead. My husband was brought to the trauma center after a bad cycling accident. The resuscitation team was quick & effective. After that, all downhill. They had him parked in the trauma center for his broken shoulder. A few hours later while waiting on the IV two finish, which the nurse told us is cheap and constantly gets kinked, we got kicked into the hall for someone in cardiac arrest. Which fair, it's a resuscitation ward. We spend 12 hours there, 3pm to 3am. He should have been transferred to inpatient faster at like 10pm to free up the space and staff and more importantly, to get him more specialized neurology & orthopedic care. He walked out in a broken sling, prescribed ibuprofen and tylenol, his wounds still covered in dirt and debris. Now we can't get the X-rays they took to get our follow up appointments. The parking lot is sketchy. They don't take seemingly any private insurance which explains their funding problems. The nurses seem to disappear, not show up to work, straining the ones that do. Admin & security staff are courteous. Everyone seems to want to do their job but are using outdated processes & technologies to better serve patients more efficiently. The records department relies on faxes and cds.

I love this hospital. It's one of the best in the nation. I was born here, my grandmother, mother, father and most of my family have received treatment here. But, if you really look around you'll see how the money that can be used to improve the place is being used on ideas that aren't working. The best example is that free "valet" when the valet program first when it started was 8am to five pm. The valet would drive the car for you. Give you a ticket and then once you returned you'd give them the other half of the ticket and then they'd bring your car. Then slowly it started to close early around 445 pm. Then now they close around 3pm? On top of that they don't even valet the car for you. The original purpose of the valet program was to get people to their appointments on time. Now the "valets" have the audacity to tell you where to park and how far to park inside the parking spot. The taxpayer money is not being used in an appropriate manner. That money could have gone to power washing the existing parking structure. I bet you in a few more months, they will start to charge for what is existing free public parking. I just hope that the contract will be ending sooner rather than later.

This was my first surgery ever, and I was extremely nervous going into it. The procedure was a tonsillectomy, and Dr. Allen Huang and his entire team made the experience unexpectedly smooth and reassuring. Despite their busy workload, everyone treated me with such care and sensitivity. They took the time to explain everything, checked in with me constantly, and helped ease my anxiety at every step. I truly felt seen and supported throughout the process. Now, nearly a year later, I can confidently say that the surgery has made a real difference in my quality of life. I’m deeply grateful to Dr. Huang and his team for their professionalism, warmth, and the positive outcome of the procedure.

Extremely poor customer service. I came up to the receptionist in the front were you register patients and immediately she was so defensive and hostile I just was asking the process is my first time bringing my parents here she’s gonna focus on the fact she already explained it to my mom obviously I wouldn’t be at the window of my mom understood correctly a lot of the people right here do not understand correctly with the processes or what is being done. The communication is for and they are so rude. It sucks. It’s good to have a hospital with healthcare, but it also sucks to have to deal with rude healthcare staff. They’re supposed to be here to make people feel better innocence and I just for a paycheck.

PARKING ONLY Concerns. 1. Cleanliness, Odors, and Safety 🏨🅿️ The parking structure—especially the side across from the main area—is extremely dirty, including the old elevator. There are strong odors of urine and other foul smells, and in some areas there is even feces on the floor, which is unacceptable for a hospital environment. Every level needs to be pressure washed with soap and bleach, with special attention to the 3rd floor, which connects directly to the hospital bridge. Regular, thorough cleaning is essential for health and safety, particularly in high-traffic areas where germs and viruses can accumulate. A recommended schedule is to power-wash every two months. If the hospital cannot afford this, they should consider asking volunteers or private companies to donate their cleaning services. 2. Parking Misuse by Employees Employees are using patient and guest parking areas, causing the parking structure to be full on almost every level. This creates hardships for patients, visitors, and families who rely on accessible parking. Installing cameras on each floor, including inside the elevator, would help monitor and prevent misuse.. I will take pictures next time 📷
