I’ve had a great experience with LawnStarter so far. The app makes scheduling and payments simple, and communication is always clear and professional. Every service has been done on time and with great attention to detail. It’s been such a relief to have a company that’s dependable, responsive, and takes the stress out of lawn care. Highly recommend!!

I used LawnStarter last season, and got an amazing crew all summer. I canceled over the winter, and restarted May of 2022. I will say, customer service is great at fixing things, and not charging you, but when you have to call every single time, something’s not right, and it doesn’t fix the horrible lawn job, and every time they have to change your crew, it’s going to be 2 or 3 more days before they come out. Due to providers not showing up on my scheduled dates, and calling customer service, I ended up not having my lawn mowed for 4 weeks! I don't feel like the providers they use are in any way vetted before allowing to be on LawnStarter. My first "crew" was a one person outfit who messaged me several times to reschedule, and then showed up at dusk to mow. He knocked on my door, gave my husband some excuse why he was late, started talking about his plans, as if he was still trying to get out of the service. It was pitch black by the time he was done, and needless to say, my lawn was choppy and damaged. The next crew was great for a couple of mows, and then decided it was a good idea to mow after a heavy storm and destroyed my lawn with their equipment. Then, I guess that crew decided they didn't like the complaint and stopped coming...I got no notice. When I went to "message my crew", my account was cancelled. I should have left it that way, but called LawnStarter to work it out. The first person to come said they wouldn't do it less than $150 due to the length of grass and size of yard, but this was over 100% of my original cost, so LawnStarter wasn't having that, which was nice of them... a week later I got my lawn mowed finally after almost a month. The crew did wonderful work. I decided to get their number, and give them my money directly instead of going through LawnStarter's gig-style work, because like with most "gig" work, these guys aren't making the money they should because of the fees LawnStarter charges them. People want to work...just pay them what they're worth, and they might be more willing to show up and do a good job.

If you want your lawn to look terrible, this is the company for you. This is the first and last time I will ever use this company. I had the pleasure of re-mowing and bagging my yard after they came. I requested my lawn be bagged when it was mowed. Instead they left all the clippings. On top of it, they completely just didn't mow areas. I called customer service to discuss and it seems to be some kind of call center. Their solution for me was to pay $500 for them to come clean it up. My fiance then called to discuss the service. She was talking about solutions and they just stopped talking. She sat on the phone for over 5 minutes waiting for someone to say something and nothing. Both the lawn service and customer service are trash.

Thoroughly disappointed. Will look elsewhere. I also wish to give this lower than one star as a rating. I really liked the price, but the level of professionalism is sub-par. They require a minimum of 3 mows. My first mow was a disaster in the front yard. somehow a HUGE circle was mowed around the tree stump, and the edges were horribly cut and the edges weren't removed (see images). I sent an email to discuss, and they said I had to wait 48-72 hours for a response. Insane. They did, to their credit, take $10 off the first payment. They also didn't mow the backyard DESPITE asking if my regular lawn mower fit through my backyard gate (it did). so the first mow didn't even include the back yard (the WHOLE reason we signed up for yard mowing. There was a HUGE pile of raked grass left (see left side of yard in ring pic). It was there for two weeks as we cannot work in the yard (hence the REASON we signed up for yard work in the FIRST PLACE). When the second crew came on the next mow, they said they'd only do it for a quote and more money. I'm finding someone else--it's great for the price, but I've never seen a more unprofessional company.

Why can’t I rate lower than 1 star? This company is a scam. Their website is sugar coated. Had someone come to cut my lawn for the first time and and did a very messy and terrible job. I wasn’t home at that time but someone from this company sent me an email ( screenshot of the email below) Customer service was no help when I called for assistance. Waited on the phone for 45 minutes and Called 4 times but never got to talk to someone that could help me. Sent a message to their app and I got a message to expect a response within 72 hours. Somebody answers right away if a new customer signs up for a service but you are helpless once you are customer. I had a video and pictures of their service. I’ll update more. Don’t consider signing up!!! It’s a mediocre service!!! May 16... Alas! Someone returned my call on the 3rd day. Cancelled the scheduled service and I demanded a refund! I’m off the hook!
