Emerald Lawns - Austin Lawn Care

Ever since we moved and lost our old lawn service, Emerald has been taking care of all of our fertilizer, weed control, and other lawn care needs. And they do a great job. One thing I really appreciate, which was evident in Lagreg's work today, is that they don't leave a mess. Whether spreading compost or fertilizer granules, they don't leave bits behind on the sidewalk or the street or anything. It's a little thing, but it's noticeable. High fives for that.

This company was doing a good job until they were acquired by a Washington State company. No local contacts now and the worst customer service. They simply are now in the business to do to a poor job as often as they can. It seems they decided to come as often as they can by moving up each service...and of course Charging our account. I spent weeks patiently talking to customer service reps some nice..some rude ..all promising to fix the out pf hand schedule. Managers John and Austin made the same promises. Nothing was corrected the next days following the phone calls to customers service to put service on hold a month, we would get a visit the next day. Seemed they were determined to do 8 treatments to lawn in three months time then start over again. Idiots ?? I thought at first. Now I see its just a go out there do whatever and charge. I CANCELED everything. Yet they showed up. Sat In the truck ten minutes ( that's part of their routine...sit in truck ten mins ..run around the yard 4 minutes. Sit in truck 15 minutes more.. .then report you serviced the yard for half an hour) Look elsewhere . This company is a joke!!+

I went online to pay my bill only to find out they had automatically charged my account WITHOUT permission and added an extra $10!! When I called to inquire about the bill, I was told this is their new business practice. I asked if I could speak with a supervisor, and she said it would be 72 hours before Cade would call back. Five days later I called again only only to be told he would call me at his earliest convenience. I will be hiring lawn service with a new company.

Do not hire Emerald Lawns. We hired Emerald Lawns to install Christmas lights. The service was originally scheduled on 10/5, with an agreed completion date of 11/12. Instead, they showed up seven separate times, each visit ending with a new excuse for why they could not complete the install. Either they did not have a tall enough ladder or they did not bring the lights with them. When I called customer service, I was repeatedly told that the technicians “always bring lights,” which directly contradicted what the technicians themselves were telling me on site. Out of all those attempts, I received only one confirmation that a technician was on the way, and it was not even on a day they had previously scheduled. The lights were finally installed on 11/26, two full weeks past the agreed deadline. The very next day, I noticed that some of the lights were not working at all and the entire right side of the house had fallen down. I contacted them again for a repair, and it took almost two more weeks for anyone to come out. Now it’s 1/16, and they still have not returned to take the lights down. Missed deadlines, repeated excuses, no communication, poor installation, and unresolved follow-through. Absolutely do not recommend.

Choosing Emerald Lawns was a HUGE mistake and has completely destroyed our yard. We purchased our first home recently and decided to invest in Emerald's [overpriced] lawn service. Before their service, our grass and plants looked healthy. After being stuck in a contract for the last year, our yard now looks laughably bad. Every time they come to do a "treatment", they're here for all of 2 minutes. We have a camera and can visibly see when they arrive/leave and there is absolutely no way they are thoroughly treating the front and back yard in such a short span of time. When they provide us notes on why our yard looks awful they claim its due to "pet damage". Yes, we have two dogs but they're indoors except to use the restroom (which we pick up immediately) and they're NEVER in the front yard (which is equally as damaged?). Our neighbors next door also have two dogs and their yard looks immaculate and bright green after being serviced by TruGreen for few months, so it sounds like a made up excuse by Emerald. The most frustrating aspect of this entire service is how much work my husband has put into trying to maintain our yard every weekend just to have these treatments kill any new growth we see. When we informed them we did not want to renew, they didn't even attempt to retain our business. I honestly have a hard time understanding this company's high rating and highly advise looking into other companies. Such a waste of a lot of money.
