I can't say enough good things about your company. I moved into my home in August of 2022. The lawn was in very bad shape, front and back. I hired Lawn Doctor in 2023. Since then, I have seen such a change in my lawn. I have grass where there was bare spots. I have grass where there was nothing but weeds. I am actually getting compliments from my friends and neighbors. Thank you, Lawn Doctor for giving my home the beautiful lawn it deserves.

Scott walked the yard with me and put together a plan of action to repair it. He spent a lot of time carefully analyzing various parts of the yard and explaining the concerns. He even took a video to give a detailed explanation to his team of what needs done. I could not have asked for better service and will definitely be using his lawn care services going forward!

I called The Lawn Doctor and was pleasantly greeted by the ofc. mgr. Robin who quickly set my appointment for a visit. The owner Scott and his son Kyler promptly arrived as scheduled in a freshly painted company truck announcing their arrival. Scott astutely noticed a section of Bermuda grass in the lawn from sod I planted previously. Soil samples were taken and thatch ( lawn clipping buildup ) was noted. Fungus is present in my soil which destroys grass. Destroys enough spots to make it noticeable. Can be treated but expensive I was told. We discussed watering and best time of day to water to prevent fungus, nitrogen % applied over 6 applications, ways to get new seed into the soil, and lastly de-thatching and aeration. Scott’s knowledge of his industry is unparalleled. Smart guy. I was very comfortable dealing with the company and can honestly say that I look forward to doing business with this family owned business in Powell OH.

Our home has used 2 prior lawn care companies over the last 20 years. I’ve switched to Lawn Doctor this week based upon several of my neighbors favorable experience. I can see why… as I had the pleasure to meet Our assigned Lawn Technician Manager - Josh today. Immediately I knew that he was a professional! I had several questions and was very impressed with his sense of insight and project ownership and integrity. I’m looking forward with high confidence in Josh towards watching the anticipated improved results over time come to fruition!

Update: 5/28/25. Still getting great sevice from lawn doctor. Thx Kyle. Previously: Ok. I’m a bit winded here, so i’m just going to summarize at the beginning the best I can. Please look at the before and after photos. Our lawn was almost 50% dirt when we started and what lawn we did have was in very poor shape. It’s a night and day difference from last year. We went all-in on services and it was well worth the costs to have professionals like Lawn Doctor take care of it for us! Absolutely recommend it! 10 of 10. I had written a longer review, but Google made me truncate it a bit. Our Experience Our lawn had never been great since we moved into our house almost a decade ago in the northern part of Columbus. We had a big maple in the back that provided an abundance of shade along with a couple of elm trees on our fence line with our neighbor that provided even more shade. Eventually we were left with mostly just dirt and weeds in our backyard. Hard, cracked, and very packed soil. Over the years we tried to treat and seed our lawn on our own, but nothing ever really took hold. In addition to the Maple, we also had two big pine trees. In the spring of 2019 we had the pine trees removed (redbud planted nearby), our maple and neighbor’s elm tree trimmed to provide a little more light to our lawn. After the removal of the pine trees we were left with quite a bit of extra ‘dirt’ for a lawn. Overwhelmed with the condition of the lawn, the prospect of the personal efforts (sweat and tears) to do it ourselves, and the cost to tackle this on our own summed up together was something we just did not want to try again. So we decided to seek some professional help. We had heard about Lawn Doctor’s ‘power seeding’ and their guarantee. We did a little research and decided to go with Lawn Doctor’s services. We also essentially went all in on services, no half measures here. Not something I usually do, but me and my family were tired of not being able to enjoy our property. It was late September when we got the service, we got full power seed service, aeration, soil testing. They did find one thing related to the soil testing that needed addressed - and we subscribed to that treatment. Since much of our property was in bad shape already the aeration and what seemed like constant watering did make it a bit of a sloppy mess for a while - but it really paid off. Do as you’re asked and water your lawn. With that in mind, plan for additional water costs in your budget. This I didn’t think of until afterwards - we paid a little more than double in our water bill than usual. But again, it was well worth it. Winter comes and goes and spring gets here, the lawn is looking really good. I would say over 95% of my lawn took to the treatment. One thing I hadn’t planned on was pest control. We’ve always had horrible amounts of mosquitoes and honestly didn’t think the pest treatment would do much given how many of them we have every year. Given the quality of service and the fact our expectations were exceeded already, we agreed to the service. The lawn treatment for it was over a month ago and we’ve only seen a few mosquitoes - not what would seem like swarms years before. I’m still not sure how long this treatment will last - we may look into multiple treatments over the summer/fall if that’s possible or even needed. Time will tell. The unique part of this experience is oddly the Covid pandemic. Now we’re staying home and avoiding going out - spending a lot of quality time with our family on our property. Thinking back, we’re very glad we made the decision we did to go ahead with Lawn Doctors services. It is a night and day kind of difference in our case. I would absolutely recommend their services. They have more than exceeded my family’s expectations. Please look at our before and after photos for yourself.
