Froedtert Hospital

The level of compassion and empathy is is a 0 out of 10. A family member is literally dying, and the social worker chuckled while speaking to my mother. At the end of the call, she made my mother cry. While trying to console my mother, the security guard who clearly seen her crying told us to move when we weren't blocking any other vehicle. Damn shame.

This place was dirty. Staff seemed good if you really needed them, but the whole hospital seemed dirty, old not nice. I would not want to be there. My sister was there for heart valve replacement and ended up with a stroke at 59 years old. I did not feel very confident. The staff mentioned to her about her in passing about her stroke before any of us knew about it. That's how she found out she had a stroke. Staff seemed capable but halls were so messy disorganized. They have my sister her meds and dropped one of her pills and acted like she didn't notice it until I mentioned it. She never replaced it so I guess my sister didn't need that drug. Then her medical transport to rehab center had no wheel chair, filthy van burnt out headlight to go from Milwaukee to Kenosha.

My husband and I have been going to Froedtert the last 3 months. Today we were waiting for someone from patient transport to take us to the CFAC department. A young man named EJ showed up. He was so polite and empathetic to why we were there that I had to let him know how wonderful he is at what he does.

Jordan Merkow MD, was by far one of the worst doctors I’ve ever came across in my life. I scheduled an appointment with my regular doctor unfortunately she was unavailable and had to deal with this bias dog. I guess because of the way I look which is black, I wasn’t supposed to have any health issues like a stroke, heart issues, migraines, stomach issues, pots, weight loss and etc. So I needed FMLA paperwork filled out and was told this was my last year getting it filed because I was so called “abusing it” which I don’t know how. Work encouraged me to get it every year. I was also told I need to find a different job as well by her. I literally had to schedule another appointment with my doctor to make sure it was filed right. I had a billed for $300 because of this dog of a doctor. She stormed out of the office didn’t even give me a copy of the paperwork left me in the room. The cleaning lady told me everyone had left. I wouldn’t recommend me this doctor to NOBODY unless you want to be judged based on the way you look!

My mother had a surgery here and passed away from complications on post op day 5. Friday before passing she would not answer the room phone for me but did call my dad. The only thing that really bothered me was that she said the nurses were not checking on her as often as she thought, she felt worse after this surgery than her last and that this was a mistake (the surgery). The covering surgeon said all vitals and labs were good until Saturday. But as my mom was dying from the inside out did anyone listen to her. She FELT worse days after surgery. I am a nurse. I know that you need to listen to your patients who know their own bodies better than i do, especially in this case something was going incredibly wrong. You failed Froedtert. As much as you are the only Level 1 trauma center in the area are needed, it is a damned if you go there or damned if you do not. Even if you are educated on risks and sign the consent for treatment I would have preferred my mother dying by trying to fix the complication rather than have her die because opps it was too late when we found it. This certainly will affect me working in healthcare the rest of my life as you cannot trust the healthcare system in this country.
