Medicaid patients beware: was told over the phone they accepted our insurance and we were in-network, only to get a notice from our MCO after our visit stating that this was not in fact true.

Have had severe lower back pain for years, only to be thrown to physical therapy for the last 6 years multiple times. It’s to the point I'm unable to do basic things and hurt so bad that my leg starts going numb. But hey, all my labs look OK and everything checks out so I must be ok.

Today, I had my first appointment, for Osteopathic Manipulation, with DOCTOR JILL, and her great assistant, SPENCER!!!!I’ve had many chiropractic adjustments and physical therapy sessions, in my long lifetime, but NEVER have I EVER had such an EXTENSIVE and THOROUGH, “regular physical,” in my whole life!! That was, even, before Dr. Jill gave me some adjustments and manipulations, on my body!! It is the BEST COMPLIMENT I could give any doctor, and Dr. Jill is the ONLY doctor, in my lifetime, whom deserves it!! She really cares about her patients a great deal and I feel FORTUNATE and very BLESSED, to have her as my new doctor!! SPENCER is an EXCEPTIONAL, young, doctor, in training, and was, only, one of four chosen, from several students, to assist Doctors, in their practices, with patients. He is a very sharp, and quite knowledgeable “student,” and I could see that Dr. Jill depends on Spencer a great deal, for his ADVANCED KNOWLEDGE and ENTHUSIASM, to assist people, with their health challenges. A HUGE THANK YOU, to both of them!!

I went to dr kempf when all hope was gone. Our goal was to keep all my toes. I had a few surgeries and that was exactly what he did he saved them all healed my wounds and was able to help gut me on the kidney transplant list. I adore him so much for his help. He is awesome

After having foot surgery in December, 2021, I was still having some residual foot pain five months out. My podiatrist suggested I do some physical therapy and recommended the Physical Therapy Department at Des Moines University. I’ve had past experience with several physical therapy clinics but never with Des Moines University. I have to say that my experience with Des Moines University was, by far, the best I’ve ever experienced. The support staff personnel, both in the downtown and West Des Moines locations are extremely proficient, kind, and caring. They are top notch! My physical therapist, Sharon Johansen, was the best therapist I have ever had the privilege of working with. She offered a wealth of information, exercises, and practical tips that, in short time, brought me significant improvement and pain relief. She not only took a sincere interest in my case, but she was also very personable and kind. I cannot recommend her enough to anyone seeking competent and effective physical therapy with a personal touch. While I have given Des Moines University Physical Therapy five stars, they deserve many more.
