Comprehensive Primary Care - L Street

I have been a patient here for 4 years and up till a few months ago I would have had nothing but positive things to say about the clinic. I even told my fiancé to go here when they were looking for a new primary care doctor. I regret that now. My fiancé had an appointment on January 29th for a prescription refill. We waited over a week and it hadn’t been filled, when we talked to the pharmacy they told us that the clinic had never sent the prescription to them. We have been unsuccessfully trying for over 2 weeks to get in contact with anyone from this clinic. We have called multiple times on multiple days and never gotten through to anyone. We have both left multiple voicemails explaining the situation, leaving our numbers, and requesting they call us back and we have gotten no response. This is absolutely ridiculous! It should not be this hard to get in touch with even just a receptionist or nurse! This clinic has almost certainly lost both of us a patients

I have mixed feelings about this practice. Dr. Hansen is great. Excellent bedside manner and very knowledgeable. However, the staff is rude and it is incredibly difficult to get in touch with the doctor (via the patient portal or the phone). I had a medical emergency and was unable to get in touch for more than 72 hours, even though the doctor had told me she would monitor for my updates while dealing with a severe illness. Instead, I was intercepted by her assistant who made clear she did not understand the severity of the situation (had never heard of the illness) and would not put me in touch, even by writing, with the doctor.

There’s nothing personal about the care here; you are just another insurance card and a 15-minute time slot. Even after years of visits, the ‘assembly line’ culture makes it impossible for the doctor to actually know your history. This led to serious lapses in my healthcare that could have been avoided with even a basic level of attention.

Dr. Stelling is a great doctor, but the administrative aspect of this office is poorly run. Every single time I have tried to call you cannot get a hold of someone. You will be on hold for a while and never get to speak to anyone. This isn’t just a one off thing, every single time I have called this has happened. For example, I tried calling this morning to last minute reschedule an appointment as I had a family emergency pop up. I have tried to call the office several times, left voicemails, and yet no response.

I came in for my physical exam as a new patient, and I was incredibly impressed with the customer service I received. The front desk team was outstanding Jeannette and Brian went above and beyond to help me get my pre-op note when the surgeon's office failed to fax it over. Despite the delay and frustration from the situation, they remained patient, professional, and attentive throughout. They made the process smooth and stress-free, ensuring I was able to complete my visit without issue. I truly appreciate their support and kindness. I highly recommend this office to anyone looking for excellent care and customer service!
