City of Albuquerque Eastside Animal Shelter

I volunteered here three times after getting a speed ticket. The staff are incredible and really want to help. I went to donate some items and came back with a foster dog! The experience was incredible and there are so many wonderful dogs. I worked with one of the volunteers who walked them and they are very invested teaching good behavior. Every adoption comes with a free first visit at a veterinarian and a free tag. My favorite veterinarian at eubank animal hospital was a part of that! They also sent home a bag of food and a free training session.

Great people who are doing such great work woth all these animals. We adopted a puppy last week who had been adopted and then returned, she is the absolute best puppy ever for us and our family. Adopt don't shop. Thank you to everyone who works there.

About a year ago we adopted my sweet girl rein and we loved how they handled the adoption allowing us to go to a small gated area to interact with her, giving us her background and any important information, and her medical records. We had to return recently because we moved and unfortunately we werent able to find her paperwork we needed for her new grooming appointment and they still had all of her records and printed out the information for us! The staff were all very kind and you can tell they love these animals

I went there today just to get dog food from the pantry when they help other people supply food for dogs when you don’t have the money, but I didn’t like that one of the workers told me they just put down the puppies me and my husband we just got these two new puppies yesterday we were just asking for information what to do and everything but they told us they just put down puppies. That’s not right all animals have a right to live. They’re just babies so they had a right to live for a few more months maybe or whatever give them a chance I understand older dogs go through more too, but when she said that that hurt my feelings and everything I went in there to get a dog food for them because I just got them and resources too to take care of them not to hear that they just put down dogs. I go there once in a while to see the animals because I have a good heart and I love helping animals and taking care of them and making sure they live a happy life, but I don’t need one of your workers telling me that they Just put down animals I understand you are an animal shelter you bring in dogs once a while from the street help them take care of them and sometimes you have to put them down but this is bullshit. I didn’t need to hear that or my husband. It’s just how she said it we understand your guys are full capacity and everything but still how she said that she didn’t need to say it like that. I already said I go there once in a while adopt animals to give them a better life, but I don’t need to go in there and hear that you guys just put down animals We understand that you are helping other people giving them animals and giving the animals a chance of life but when you go in there, we don’t need to hear that you put down animals. I’m sorry I will never say that if I was a worker for the animals I will say yes we do our job here that we do put down animals, but you don’t have to say you just put down a puppy of letters down. I’m sorry that made me so mad. I just wanted to let you guys know that was not cool. What she said I don’t know her name. I really didn’t wanna look at her because what she said piss me off. And I already said I understand you guys help the city and help animals but when someone’s going in there to adopt some or get information, we don’t need to hear that because what does that make us feel that we need to take care of these animals on the Earth and be good to them
