The Hartford

My vehicle was hit by a client of The Hartford while parked and unoccupied. These people made everything so difficult that an already stressful situation turned into a month long ordeal. First they refused to give me a rental car unless I could pick it up on a Monday or Tuesday, my appointment for the bodyshop was a Wednesday so they would not give me a car and I had to borrow my sister in laws for 2 weeks. Finally on the 3rd week of my car being in the shop they allowed me to get a rental car on a Thursday. Then I was told they would not pay for my front side windows, these windows were fully functional before I was hit, after I was hit one fell into the door and I had to duct tape it up and the other was making a grinding noise. I was told that there was "no proof" that the collision caused the damage and they would not pay for it. The Hartford is a horrible insurance company.

Lost job for medical reasons, had to use short term disability to help until assistance could be achieved elsewhere.They were very proficient throughout my claim. Hartford ended up over paying my claim $57.14, not going to be upset about such a small amount of money,and I wouldn't want a company that only makes $24 billion annually to go bankrupt over my debt to them!

This company deserves zero stars. I cancelled a policy weeks before it was set to expire. This useless company said the never noted ot on my account, not surprised. They then continued to bill me months later and then said they cancelled my account which I cancelled months before. They asked for proof of insurance, sent them my new insurance binder. Oh that is mot good enough...it is for a vehicle purchase, for LEO, and just about anyone else on the planet except for these idiots. Finally after 6 months of fighting with them the agreed to remove the extra charges but only after filing with BBB and thecstate insurance board. For all my time and effort fighting for hours and hours on the phone, I told them I want $500 for time and effort fighting something that was their fault. Nope they are not having it. They continue to send me a bill for what I have no idea. Avoid this useless company at all costs. Sure they have been around for a long time but seems ss though the still run the business like it was 1920.... There is a good reason they have crappy reviews. CRAPPY COMPANY.

I have WC policy with them since 07/25. After paying 3 months, they’re increased the payment up to $5/month without a notice. I called and complain with the sale, sale couldn’t do any explain better. No WC company would increase your Policy within 3 months. Then they emailed and audit me, ask me to pay for the final audit which it couple hundreds. I went and had 3 different companies, none of them charging me couple hunders of dollars audit. Dont use The Hardford, they’re screwed up your policy and money.

I would never recommend Hartford insurance. They canceled my homeowner insurance for non payment when my mortgage company sent them a check that they took over 30 days to cash. They did deposit the check but still canceled my policy. I went to a local insurance company office in my hometown where I get personal service and saved over $200 a month in car insurance when I canceled that with Hartford as well. Do not use this company!
