We have been boarding our dog, a pit bull/lab mix, for more than 10 years at Ohana Doggie Day Care. The reason we have stayed with them: we trust the staff. The staff has consistently been pleasant, friendly, and accommodating, and we trust them to be kind and gentle with our Sandy. We take comfort in knowing that when we travel, Sandy will be in good hands and well taken care of.

Steer clear of this place. I brought my 4-month-old puppy in for an “evaluation,” and when I picked her up, she was limping. A vet later confirmed she had a fractured knee. The staff could not explain how the injury occurred. However, I was watching the facility cameras and saw an employee drop a large basket directly behind my puppy while she was standing near them. Despite this, management denied any responsibility and claimed the basket was “nowhere near her.” The lack of accountability and honesty was extremely disappointing, especially for a business that promotes “ohana.” Add in the strong unpleasant odor throughout the facility, and this was not a place I would ever trust again with a pet.

We really appreciated the mandatory Meet & Greet, which ensures every dog is temperamentally suited for the pack. The structured rotation of play and rest periods keeps them happy but not overly exhausted, and the 10% sibling discount makes the 10-day prepaid package much more affordable for our multi-dog household budget. They handle the health requirements (like vaccines and flea prevention) strictly, which gives us great peace of mind.
