Recently visited as a chaperone. For what the place is, it is very well kept. The staff are friendly and professional. The grounds are well kept and the areas where the animals are held are clean (of course they won't always stay clean due to the amount of animals). The indoor holding areas may smell of animal droppings, but it's not overwhelming as the staff try to keep up with it, but it is not dirty. There seem to be a good amount of volunteers, which says a lot about them in general. Shout Out to Sabrino O.! She made the visit a great experience! Yes, they may have a high rate of euthanasia, but they also have a very high intake of animals and not enough going out, this is out of their control, but they do a lot and go above and beyond to get the animals adopted. If you're looking for pet I highly recommend adopting from here!!!

My partner and I recently adopted. Our first adoption was a bit overwhelming as the owner ended up getting her picked up the day we thought we would take her home. Though a miracle happened and everything worked out. We saw a very nervous dog the next day that needed a home and a family to feel loved and that’s when we brought home Leo 🫶. He’s definitely warmed up to us after a day and started to wag his tail. I’m so happy for the three of us.🐶

Too long to take care of the intakes or forms. I was there to fill out an affidavit and I had to wait until my turn to get the forms then start filling them out and then wait until they were done with the person they were currently attending. The affidavits should be given as soon as you walk in so that you can start filling in the details instead of rushing through them. They need more people or a better system. The officer that spoke to me was super nice and she seemed very passionate about getting us taken care of.

My daughter fosters dogs and this was her third time finding a forever home. We attended an adoption event with so many great vendors. Love what they do here to make a difference. Highly recommended

I am truly grateful that the city provides free TNR services if you live in designated ZIP Codes within city limits. Granted, it’s not truly free as it’s funded by city resident’s taxes, but if we all pay a little, no one pay’s a lot. Regardless, I came to this location to pick up a cage to put our neighborhood stray cat for an upcoming neuter service. They offered to rent me out the cage for free, which was also very nice and convenient. My only critique of my experience here was that the staff seemed distant and somewhat cold. It is also unfortunate that they euthanize animals, however, I understand why they do it as they are short on resources and space. Nonetheless, as far as I can tell, the city is doing the best they can to help out animals in need with the limited resources they are given. I see a good amount of negative reviews on here and though I understand their complaints, at the end of the day, these people are human and they make mistakes, and as I said before, they’re working on a limited budget, so I’m sure it’s not easy to do what they do. In the end, I am glad everything worked out smoothly at this location.
