First Insurance Company of Hawaii, LTD

This company is sucks!!!. I will not reccommend them. They have been our home insurance company for 11 years and this is our first time to claim. Just by calling them to report a claim takes a lot of time.. They don't answer phone calls. It will take you half day to just be on the phone waiting for them to answer and no luck. It's been 2 weeks that i am contacting them but have not answer. It's frustrating!!!!!. We will definitely going to transfer to another insurance.

We had a water leak causing significant damage to the kitchen and hallway in our condo. Our claims adjuster Camis was incredibly helpful, responsive and supportive throughout the extensive restoration process. Camis was extremely diligent in gathering and thoroughly investigating all relevant information. Camis proactively provided updates and answered all our questions in a timely manner, and we are so grateful.

Any insurance company including this one is all for profit. Insurances puts you and your company in a hole. The rates are outrageous. Over 10K a month in insurance is ridiculous. That doesn’t include car, medical, tdi. You pay for insurance that you will most likely will never use. They say they based the rates off how much your company makes but for small business even if they make some sort of profit there are tons of loans and additional bills we have to pay off just to support the business. This is not including the astronomical tax amounts we have to pay back the government is ridiculous. This companies billing is not adequate and rates are through the roof. Companies like this just helps companies dig themself more in a hole with no way out. Can’t even make a name for yourself in Hawaii without being stolen from.

I exercised my right to file a legitimate claim when my upstairs neighbor flooded my unit. I have never made a claim before in my life. This was no fault of my own. First Insurance cancelled and dropped me because of the claim. Buyer beware! First insurance will take your money but not support you. I encourage you to shop elsewhere. Unbelievable how they treated me.
