We have visited Astro donuts so many many times and yet I can only find one picture from them! Their fried chicken sandwich sandwiches are absolutely where it is. You should come come here for the fried chicken chicken but also pick up a doughnut or come for the donut and pick up a fried chicken sandwich sandwich. Their donuts are always so delicious. They have specialty ones like the ones pictured here from time to time and if they have them, you should absolutely get a box! From the dough which is nice and airy and light, not too dense to the flavors which always shine through really nicely and are at a very good ratio with the donut itself. There really isn’t anything not to like at Astro donut. Well, let me correct myself. There is always a line. You need to expect to wait for your Astro donuts because they are just that popular and that good. If you can, pre-order but if you can’t no matter how long the line is, it is absolutely worth it to have these donuts and fried chicken sandwiches! parking is hard to find here so be aware of that! If you can try and get a cab or a rideshare or take a bike if that’s a possibility.

Astro Doughnuts in D.C. absolutely delivered. I tried the classic glazed and the maple bacon, and both were genuinely mouth‑watering. The glaze had that perfect light sweetness and soft texture, while the maple bacon struck the ideal balance of salty, smoky, and sweet without being overwhelming. If you’re craving doughnuts that feel indulgent but thoughtfully crafted, Astro is a must‑visit. I’ll definitely be back to explore more of their flavors.

We were just sitting down to eat at the restaurant and the doughnuts place had just closed, but the owner saw that we had been interested and she gave us a box of six donuts - “these are the last flavors we had,” she said - for free. So friendly and nice!! It was incredible! And the donuts were delicious!

The doughnuts were out of this world!! We got a dozen of them in all varieties including their holiday flavors. We also got a few chicken sandwiches which had the most delicious honey butter we have had in a long time. Everybody were big fans of the doughnuts and our favorites by far were the s’mores, the red velvet, and the crème brûlée.

One morning before my meetings in DC. I got a chance to walk around the city. One of the places I had saved my phone to try was Astro Doughnuts & Fried Chicken. The doughnuts were decadent but still delicious. While there, I tried the PB & J donut along with a seasonal pumpkin pie. Both were really good, but the PB & J doughnut alone was worth the trip. I also got an order of chicken tenders. The tinders were crunchy and flavorful.This was definitely a place.I would take my family back to.
