Easy to walk to from where we were staying and BOY AM I HAPPY! They had such tasty GLUTEN FREE arepas and it was delightful. I went back the SAME day for another one… :)

I came here three times… yeap! It’s been a while since I had a good Venezuelan Arepa and from the first time I loved it! The staff is so friendly and plenty of seating space although one evening it was busy. So worth stopping by. They also have different beverage options

No regret walking 15 min for food. Emoanada seafood. Umami smell already reaches me from the counter. The crust is a bit hard to cut through in the small paper box, with the soft forks. The dough is mildly sweet, as other reviews mention. Goes well with seafood and lovely as my dessert heehee. The filling is slightly spicy and warming, lots of small pieces of seafood:) The arepa looks small but is really filled to its extreme. Flavorful lean yet juicy chicken. The arepa pocket itself is thinner and more crispy than the Colombia ones I had, the latter of which preserves more moisture and chewiness. Sauce is tangy and refreshing. I don’t have my +1 number anymore so I cannot order via the official website, and delivery platforms don’t have the full menu. I ended up forgetting to at black bean and avocado to my arepas. Lunchtime wait time is about 10-15 min. The nutrition sheet is more about dietary requirements and allergies. No calories info.

Arepa Zone: Your Passport to Venezuelan Flavor in DC. Arepa Zone: Your Passport to Venezuelan Flavor in DC If you're looking for a meal that is genuinely soulful, incredibly satisfying, and bursting with the vibrant flavors of Latin America, you absolutely must make a trip to Arepa Zone in Washington D.C. This isn't just a restaurant; it's a delicious immersion into Venezuelan culinary culture, delivered with warmth and generosity. A Culinary Tour of Venezuela The menu at Arepa Zone is a beautiful showcase of Venezuela’s most beloved street foods and comfort dishes. Every item is a delicious invitation to explore, from the crunchy, corn-griddled exterior of the signature Arepas—which come generously stuffed with fillings like the famous Reina Pepiada (chicken and avocado salad) or the hearty Pabellón (shredded beef, plantains, black beans, and cheese)—to the incredible Cachapas. The Cachapa, a slightly sweet corn pancake folded over a thick slab of queso de mano (handmade cheese), is a textural and flavor masterpiece. Don't skip the appetizers! The Tequeños de Queso (fried cheese sticks) are perfectly golden and addictive, especially when dipped in their famous garlic-cilantro sauce. Everything here feels authentic, fresh, and meticulously prepared. Portions That Make You Say, "¡Wow!" One of the most impressive things about Arepa Zone is the absolutely excellent portion sizes. Seriously, come hungry! Whether you order a massive Patacón (a sandwich made with fried green plantains instead of bread) or one of their Pabellón Bowls, you are getting outstanding value. The bowls in particular are mountains of flavor—perfect for a post-work feast or even two meals if you're feeling conservative. You leave feeling fully satisfied, which is exactly what comfort food should do. And for the perfect finale? Seek out their Hot Chocolate. This isn't your watery powdered cocoa; this is a rich, thick, deeply decadent Venezuelan-style chocolate that provides the perfect comforting finish to a hearty meal. Arepa Zone is a must-visit. It’s a consistently top-rated spot for a reason—it’s delicious, authentic, and truly gives you a generous taste of La Tierra de Gracia. Go get your arepa fix! MN

First time to experience eating a cachapa, which is a sweet Venezuelan and Colombian dish made from fresh corn-based wrap with the consistency of a pancake. We had the chicken, but it was a little greasy. They were good, but would have been a lot better if we were allowed to select additional ingredients to be included as part of the filling--similar to how Subway and Chipotle allow you to custom order what goes into your main entree.
