My husband and I had a couples massage (mine was prenatal) and we both did an add on - he did the eye mask and I did the face mask. Upon arrival to the spa - we were greeted by name and immediately checked in and led to locker rooms to change and get comfortable, they also brought us drinks of choice (that were made out to be complimentary, yet my husband was charged for a glass of champagne). Next we lounged and had some complimentary snacks (granola, tea, infused water, macarons). When it was time for our massages things went a bit awry. Our therapists came to get us and went to confirm we wanted separate rooms and I clarified we specifically asked for a room together when booking, no problem. They led us to the room together and i went to the restroom. While i was gone they asked my husband if it was a special occasion, turns out the massage therapists didn’t even know / realize I was pregnant (this was specifically noted for my appt when booking as obviously it’s important I’m over halfway and have to be accommodated). So then when i return to the room my husband informs me we switched therapists and he had to inform them i was pregnant. Okay.. this is where it gets really below a Waldorf Astoria level spa. They gave me 1 regular pillow to place under my neck - i was like well I am definitely going to need a pillow for between my legs. I was given a standard pillow. They do not have a prenatal massage pillow. What? Why even offer the service? Being pregnant is uncomfortable enough i don’t want to pay $600 to be uncomfortable for an hour. My massage was very mediocre, but fine. It wasn’t bad it was just very light pressure, despite me asking for more. I also informed her i get prenatal massages monthly and she pretty much ignored my wishes and did the amount of pressure she deemed appropriate. A bit more pressure is not contraindicated in a second trimester pregnancy, so it seems they need to update their staff’s education. My husband really enjoyed his massage, he said it was great pressure and very relaxing and she really worked on some really troublesome spots. Afterwards we paid an additional $75 PP to have the “champagne and strawberries experience” which online says it includes a private salt room and private rain shower. We were super excited for this portion as the other amenities like a steam room, shower are in separated locker rooms. The salt room was set up with 2 glasses of champagne and 5 chocolate dipped strawberries. I had to request NA (sparkling apple cider) after i already had done that in booking. No problem they brought it right away. We were told we would have 30 minutes. They never returned to check on us (this was around 530PM) and they never even mentioned the shower). This was disappointing to say the least. We wasted nearly $1000 for my mediocre experience and this was for our baby moon. Save your money and go elsewhere. Every other part of the hotel was top notch (we stayed here) but the spa needs some fine tuning. Everyone was very kind but there was a deep lack of knowledge and professionalism. I’ve had prenatal massages at several places while traveling and this was without a shadow of a doubt the worst. Edited to add : we were contacted by the spa shortly after this review was posted and they were extremely kind and apologetic and wanted to make things right. We went back recently for another couples massage and it was a much better experience.

Generally I had a nice experience, but I wouldn't say anything stuck out as "special " or over and above any other hotel spa I've been to, which was a little disappointing for the Waldorf. As others noted, spa etiquette seems to be lacking as common rooms were quite loud at times. I did a detox "wrap" treatment which wasn't really a "wrap" more like a gel coating. But I will say that the massage experience that went with that treatment was excellent, very relaxing, that was with Kimberly, would highly recommend. However, I added a traditional massage on to that after and had Tosin, a male tech, which is usually fine but his style was odd, not fluid in the slightest, and not relaxing. The tip is automatically added to your bill, which is annoying to start, but then when you have such different experiences with different technicians it would have been nice to reward one accordingly. Overall it cost 700 for a 75 min treatment and 60 min massage after everything was added. I dont think the experience reflected that, unfortunately. There are likely equal or better options in town.

Jennifer and Lisa were wonderful. My wife and I really enjoyed our 90 minute couple massage. Wouldn’t change a thing. However, we enhanced our experience by adding a 30 minute visit to the Himalayan salt room, with champagne and strawberries. A charge of $150 for two glasses of champagne and five chocolate covered strawberries is excessive to say the least. Go and enjoy a great massage, but forgo the extra 30 minutes. Not worth it.

Experience the best massage so far, the effect of the frosted cream is very good, and the technician is very professional. The environment is very warm, and the service attitude is very friendly.

I had a wonderful massage with Jonny! She was incredibly professional, and her technique struck the perfect balance between relaxation and effective therapeutic work — my back felt noticeably better afterward. The salt room was a lovely bonus to start with, and while the amenities are small and quaint, if you happen to have the space to yourself, you’re in for an absolute treat. Highly recommend!
