Village Preschool of Portland

All four of our kiddos have gotten to experience Village Preschool and have loved it! My kiddos are thriving and each learned how to be emotionally and socially prepared for kindergarten (and beyond). This co-op has taught the whole family so much about communicating and how to come in to situations with listening ears and a non-judgmental approach. It really has changed our parenting game. I highly recommend it!!!

Teacher Jamie is such a valuable resource for parents and preschoolers! Both of my children attended Village Preschool of Portland. I would recommend this school to any parents looking to be involved in their child’s first school experience. I love the sense of community derived from the co op experience and my family has formed valuable relationships which will last beyond preschool. Teacher Jamie is knowledgeable, warm and patient. My children and I adore her. We will miss this school as we transition to Kindergarten.

I have witnessed such a lovely transformation in our son's social and overall development while attending this play-based, cooperative preschool. Our youngest was 2 when the pandemic began. That experience of isolation - right in the middle of critical developmental years - took a big toll. With the support and guidance of Teachers Jamie & Crystal, coupled with the Village community of grown-ups and children, our son and our family has grown exponentially. The old saying "it takes a village to raise a child" stands the test of time. This community and the level of involvement of the teachers and grown-ups are the Village every child needs. We are so grateful for the thoughtful and inclusive environment Teacher Jamie cultivates. I only wish we could stay at Village Preschool of Portland forever!

We recently moved to the area and finding schools that were a good fit for both of our kids was high on my priority list. We looked as several co-op preschools in the area and loved what Village had to offer. This year was a great one for my daughter. Teachers Jamie and Michelle are true professionals who create a fun, safe learning environment, and focus on the growth and wellbeing of children in everything they do. I always feel good dropping my daughter off in their care. Also love this community of parents and the opportunities a co-op has offered to me. Ive met new friends and have always felt supported as a family. All around great! Check it out :)

This is a great school for my daughter. The teachers are very caring and nurture a strong sense of self-awareness. The children are allowed to immerse themselves in play and learn from experiences they have in class with themselves and others. Since this is a co-op preschool, we (the parents) get to be involved directly in the classroom as well as in the behind-the-scenes stuff that keep the school thriving.
