The Spa at Carillon Miami

WARNING to anyone getting a massage here [Jennifer was my tech.] I have had many massages though the years and for the first time had a traumatic situation as the entire left side of my arm [from the neck to the wrist] became paralyzed in pain along with muscle spasms to the point where I had to see a specialist who prescribed a mix of meloxicam and cyclobenzaprine. The spasms were so bad it was hard to breathe. If this is not enough, the tech was sick, coughing and sniffling the entire time. It has been almost a week and I am still in pain [in an area that was perfectly normal.] It is shocking that a 'licensed professional' is able to cause this much harm, makes me wonder if the Carillon actually vets their employees.

I booked a couples massage a month in advance for Valentine’s day. Arrived the morning of my appt and the receptionist informed me that they couldn’t accommodate me and my boyfriend today due to being booked up. The receptionist tried to accommodate me, it still doesnt make up for the fact that this happen.

Rating: 2 stars – Multiple reasons. It all started when I called the spa. The consultant was rude, unprofessional, and unwilling to help or repeat answers to my questions. When making an appointment, they charge $50 per person for the service. I booked a couples massage for my anniversary. When I tried to reschedule, I lost the deposit, so we lost $100 and had to pay another $100 to make the new appointment. The massage therapists lack technique – it feels like they’re just rubbing you without skill. The sauna and jacuzzi areas are separate, so if you go as a couple, you won’t see each other until you leave. Inside the spa, there was no one to guide us, and I had to find someone myself. Overall, the place is overpriced. And looks old.

Ok, not to sound cliche but, I rarely leave reviews primarily because I’m too busy trying to enjoy the experience of whichever activity I’m taking part in. However, when one is gifted with such an extraordinary experience, then it’s my duty to share. I received the most amazing massage from Hannes, my masseuse who is gifted with beautiful energy and enthusiasm but also extremely professional. I was definitely transported during the 50 minutes to a dream-like bliss state! The spa facilities were pristine and relaxing and would love to come back with my girls ❤️

Personally LOVEEEE this spa! So many things to enjoy within the spa and it’s really clean. The pool and pool bar is really nice and the food tastes great. The beach set up is nice and it’s very private. The locker area and showers are also really clean. Highly recommend this. I’ve brought my mom and my best friends and they’ve all loved it.
