Small Savers Montessori Child Development Center

We have LOVED being a Small Savers family for the past two years. Our daughter has thrived in the child-centered Montessori environment since she was 7 months old, and is learning & engaging every day. The team & teachers are responsive & approachable & we love the community here.

Small Savers is an amazing daycare. My toddler has been there since she was 7 months old, and she has thrived there. Almost every day, I'm surprised by how much more autonomous and skilled she becomes. The teachers are extremely experienced, involved, and loving. The space itself is large, bright, and well equipped, with plenty of room to play and study. It also remains reasonably priced for DC. I truly cannot recommend it enough.

Small Savers Montessori is the absolute best! My son recently graduated after spending ~2.5 years at SSM. Every single morning of those 2.5 years, we were greeted with the biggest, warmest smiles and deepest commitment from the staff. The teachers have robust experience and are passionate, loving characters, who not only play a critical role in the little ones' development, but are more than ready to help guide first-time parents (like us) through major milestones. The center is always impeccably clean and organized, has plenty of books, Montessori-aligned toys, fun activities, annual traditions and a small & safe playground. The center is nut-free and the meals (for toddlers and small kids) offered are healthy and well-balanced. Ms. Cornelia, who took over leading the center earlier this year has brought amazing new energy and a sense of lightheartedness to SSM - while working tirelessly to fulfill her holistic, sophisticated professional vision for the center. We are beyond grateful for everything SSM teachers and leadership have done for our family - the world is a better place because of communities like this. = )

We've been a Small Savers family for 4 years, and couldn't be happier. Both of our children have had a wonderful experience. The teachers are great and the space is beautiful.

Small Savers Montessori is so great we had to have a third child so we could come back! The teachers are so loving and wonderful with our children. We considered leaving town during the pandemic but how could we leave when we had a loving and reliable child care provider we knew would keep our children safe? So we stayed. Our children learned so much at Small Savers but especially independence and confidence. My youngest daughter’s most common refrain is “I can do it all by myself” — and she can thanks to her Montessori training! We also love all of the center staff. Ms. LaVette is a gem and Ms. Vallerie is a strong and capable Executive Director who values parent communication and feedback. Mr. Daniel is the heart and soul of the center. Several of the staff have been around for decades, and the newer staff are being trained in Montessori regularly. We couldn’t be happier here.
