Mindfish Test Prep

My son worked with Helen Terndrup and he raised his score from a 28 to a 34. Helen had great strategies to help my son prepare and take his test. She customized her training to help him use his strengths well and develop his areas of weaknesses. She was encouraging and overall helpful. Mindfish was easy to work with and offered good flexibility to work with our schedule. I will use Mindfish in the future for my other kids!

We hired Helen at Mindfish for six 1-hour tutor sessions leading up to our son's ACT test. We had a goal in mind for our son to earn a certain merit scholarship for college. Helen was so pleasant to work with, flexible with scheduling, professional and incredibly smart! I'm amazed that she knew how to instruct my son on every kind of problem on that test. She gave practical suggestions regarding pacing, various strategies for answering the large variety of questions on the test, and content instruction for the 4 subject areas. The homework she gave between tutor sessions was worthwhile and not too overwhelming. I appreciated her session overview emails after each session detailing what was discussed and the homework assigned. Working with Mindfish was 100% worth the investment because my son's composite score went up 6 points! He performed above our goal by 2 points! Yay!

Helen is tremendous!! Her tutoring on strategies helped our daughter immeasurably--we just received a full-ride scholarship based on her scores, which undoubtedly could not have been achieved without Helen's guidance. The one-on-one sessions allow students to hone in on key aspects of the test and prove that they are just more than a test-prep tutoring service--Helen was able to re-teach subject areas that my daughter hadn't had in a classroom setting in recent years--they are not a cookie-cutter tutor and are worth every penny. We'll be using Mindfish again for our son when he's ready, I cannot say enough good things about Mindfish and Helen in particular, THANK YOU!!
