If you are craving a strong sense of community for your family, then a co-op preschool might be the perfect fit. And HSP is definitely one of the very best co-op preschools out there! The teachers care so deeply about each student and every element of the play-based curriculum is thoughtfully planned with care. The classroom and outdoor play facilities are beautiful and well-organized. The biggest highlight of our HSP experience has been the friends we've made along the way. From summer camping trips, to Friendsgivings, to helping each other with childcare and meal trains through moves and hospital stays. By taking such an active role in the classroom, you naturally get close to the other families. And your preschooler's network of trusted adults (and your support system) expands exponentially. It's something to treasure, truly.

We’ve been part of Hancock Street Preschool for two years now, and we absolutely LOVE it! Teacher Becky and Teacher Sarah are so caring and dedicated to nurturing the kids' bright and curious minds. The creative, play-based learning, focus on community, and joyful environment truly make HSP a special place for kids to grow and thrive. We can’t wait to bring our future little one here!

Our youngest daughter has spent the last 2 years at HSP and loves it. Teacher Sarah (Red Class) and Teacher Becky (Blue Class) have been a delight and the community of parents has been great. I will admit I was slightly hesitant about joining another co-op preschool since we had a not-so-great experience with the one we had our oldest daughter in. However, the experience in HSP has been a breath of fresh air compared to our previous school. The school is well organized, good standards and procedures are in place, and the work expectations for parents are completely reasonable. I highly recommend HSP to anyone looking for a preschool.

Our daughter has absolutely loved Hancock Street Preschool. It's been an ideal transition into school life — it's structured but gentle, the teacher is phenomenal, and since it's a co-op I love being able to meet all her pals and the community of parents. The most valuable thing to me is that when our daughter thinks of "school," she thinks FUN and how it's a place she *wants* to be. Couldn't ask for a better start to her education journey.

LOVE. The sense of community at this preschool is phenomenal. It's made me feel right at home, not only at the school but in my neighborhood and Portland as a whole. My daughter skips to school every time and loves her teacher, her classmates and the other parents. The eye for detail here is awesome and there's season-led themes and creative projects galore.
