I made my appointment for a maintenance on a full set of implants a month in advance and allowed plenty of time, over three hours, from my busy schedule to have this meeting which I was repeatedly told would take about an hour and was very routine. I arrived on time, looking forward to an instructional meeting I had scheduled with several people for two and a half hours later. The maintenance started alright, and the seals were drilled out by the doctor. I was handed off to the dental assistant who had shown me in. She seemed to have trouble getting my upper plate loose, finally realizing there was a final screw she had overlooked, but it took quite a long time and a great many requests that I "open wider". Once both upper and lower arches were out, I had been in the chair for an hour. They were cleaned while I waited and rested my jaws, and the DA returned and replaced the arches and all the screws. A few minutes after that, the doctor came to give them the final tightening. Then I was handed off to another different DA to seal the screw holes. I've sat for this part of the procedure three or four times now, and in my experience sealing the holes only takes about ten minutes. However, the assistant doing it this time worked very slowly, and seemed very much less practiced, though she was working alone and unsupervised. She also appeared to be multitasking, frequently communicating to other staff on her collar intercom, which further slowed her rhythm doing the job at hand. At one point when she had paused I asked about the progress, and what the time was. She told me the time, and it was 45 minutes from my meeting ( it had been a half hour since she started). I asked if we would be done in ten minutes or so, and she said "maybe" and that any delay would only make it take longer. I quickly explained that I had people coming across town to meet me, that I should call them to let them know I would likely be late. The DA pointed to a sign asking patients not to use a phone during appointments, and she reiterated the point. I was extremely frustrated by her ignoring of this circumstance and my responsibility to my clients but I chose not to make a scene, and put my head back and "opened wide" again, praying for a quick conclusion. The DA worked for a few more minutes, but then gave up and left to find the doctor. When he came, the job was finished in five minutes. I have no idea if my concerns were communicated to the doctor, who did not apologize for the prolonged time in the chair. When I was able to leave, it was too late for me to make my appointment, and two of those I was to meet had to turn around and go home, wasting their time and putting them out. Having to cancel cost me income as well as damage to my professional relationships. This appointment costs over half a thousand dollars out of pocket, and I certainly was not expecting to be shunted to less practiced personnel and lose my entire afternoon for what I was assured was a routine procedure. My experience with Exceptional Dental had been favorable or even fabulous before but I felt very let down this time.

I just moved down here to New Orleans alone so I have been needing a new primary dental care facility. Have been having excruciating pain for a month from a tooth. Contacted them this morning. Got a response within 30 minutes. Got my tooth xray and extracted same day. I know who I will be continuing care with now. Thank you all.

Always a great experience at Exceptional Dental!! Oddly for some, but I enjoy dental visits. I love a nice, clean dental office with great music, and a delightful staff. It sets the atmosphere. Kaitlyn always seals my visits with her candid humor & smile. Dr. Setti & his team are by far awesome! This visit was a routine cleaning. While I didn’t see my scheduled hygienist, I was rescheduled same day with another. 1st time cleaning with hygienist Derineka! Lovely time filled with wonderful service & great laughs. She ensured I had a great experience, talked me through her process, & polished me up. I left with a pearly smile 😃

I have too many good things to say for this space. I’m happy to draft and email if y’all want. I am a person that believes that American health care has significantly deteriorated. I have far more bad experiences than good. Y’all’s practice is excellent. Ray (sorry for any misspelling) is wonderful, so is Kaitlynn, and Dr. Setti should be observed by students (and doctors) and emulated. Thank you all very much for being human first and foremost, but you all seem like top level pros in your field as well. I’ll see y’all soon I’m sure but thanks for today.

I’ve had a really positive experience here. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. Ray is such a calming and gentle presence. She helped talk me through my filling which really helped keep me grounded. Dr. Setti took a more conservative approach to my care which really helped me build trust in the process. Kaitlyn was very helpful in figuring out the finances of the experience. Would absolutely recommend to anyone who wants a compassionate dental care team.
