Absolutely amazing spa space, I've been to plenty of hotel spas in Chicago and know how important additional amenities are for a true spa experience and Chuan definitely delivers. Between the multiple steam rooms, rain showers, heated pools and lounge space there is something for everyone to relax .I saw plenty of pictures of the stone lounge chairs but you need to experience them to understand how amazing they are. The massage itself was top tier and the staff are very welcoming as expected from the Langham. I was worried about other reviews saying the sounds of children from the pool were an issue with the relaxing vibes but this wasn't an issue during my stay, there is plenty of space to relax in even if there is a family at the pool.

This is the review I’d wish someone else had written for me. Positives: the people were very friendly and attentive and the facial for my friend and hand/foot massage for me was great! If I could rate that by itself I’d say 5 stars. Loved the complimentary Presecco too, after our treatments! Negatives: this isn’t really a “spa” in the way I think of a luxury spa in a 5 star hotel. The price makes you believe it is too! It’s marketed as an indulgent relaxing experience but it is not. Things you should know BEFORE YOU GO! 1) The pool and hot tub area is NOT part of the spa area. It is part of the hotel so children and other guests are there too. 2) the steam room, aromatherapy room and the sauna are only meant for 2-3 people and are IN the women’s locker room. 3) the “relaxation space” with the warm stone beds are IN THE LOCKER ROOM with an open wall so while you’re “relaxing” you’re listening to toilets flushing, showers going, people talking, and hairdryers. It’s ANTI zen. 4) the waiting room for your treatments is the ONLY space that gives off “spa vibes” but it’s a space where people who are waiting can gather and talk and snack, so again, not super relaxing. 5) so to be clear, none of these spaces are connected so you’re walking from the locker rooms to the pool, from the pool to the treatment rooms, all public spaces where not everyone is in robes for a spa day! If you’re looking for a spa that encompasses areas for relaxation and privacy, this is not the spa for you. And I DID my research but the pictures do not show you the layout.

I’ll be honest, I was hesitant to book because of some of the recent negative reviews, but I’m so glad I trusted my gut and came in. From the moment I walked through the doors, the atmosphere set the tone—calm, inviting, and beautifully maintained. Everything felt clean, organized, and relaxing, which immediately put me at ease. The real highlight of my visit was Leslie. She gave me one of the best massages I’ve ever had—hands down. She has an incredible touch and really seemed to know exactly where to focus without me even needing to say much. Her technique was both therapeutic and deeply relaxing, and she made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire session. I walked out feeling lighter, refreshed, and honestly wishing I had booked an even longer session. I couldn’t find a single thing negative to say about this experience. Leslie is a gem, and the spa itself exceeded my expectations. I would absolutely recommend booking with her—you won’t be disappointed.

The best spa in Chicago. Beautiful! New! Very clean! The saunas and steam room are properly hot, just as they should be. Excellent service and attentive staff. I loved the herbal sauna!

I was given a gift card for the spa and made an appointment for the foot retreat. They ask you to come thirty minutes early for paperwork, which is very quick. I was given a tour of the facility, shown to the locker room and given a robe. You can take advantage of the wet sauna, two dry saunas and relaxation lounge with heated loungers while you wait. Very relaxing atmosphere. My treatment was done by Christine and she was wonderful. The room is a little bigger than I am used to which was nice. After treatment you can use the pool and hot tub, though I didn't. It is an expensive spa so not something I would do regularly but as a treat it was perfect.
