California Movers Local & Long Distance Moving Company

hired this company again because I had an excellent experience with them last year. Unfortunately, this move was completely different and very upsetting. Two movers arrived: the driver, Roman, and another mover. Early in the move, I mentioned that I planned to discard a couch. Roman became interested in taking it, which I agreed to as long as it didn’t interfere with the job I was paying for. Instead, he stopped working for about 15 minutes to make personal phone calls arranging transportation for the couch, while only the second mover continued working. I was being charged hourly for two movers the entire time. When I made it clear that the couch was not my priority and that I needed him to return to work, his attitude immediately changed. He became visibly upset, barely communicated, and worked noticeably slower than the other mover for the rest of the job. It felt like I paid for one active mover instead of two. The move took about 5 hours and 45 minutes and was billed as 6 hours. At the end of the job, after the other mover had already gone back to the truck, Roman approached me alone and stated that they “usually ask for $150 per mover as a tip.” When I asked if this was company policy, he said it was not and that the company does not know they do this. Being presented with a large, specific tipping expectation at the very end—while being told it’s not company policy—felt inappropriate and pressured. I paid, but I left feeling taken advantage of and deeply disappointed. This experience was unprofessional and a complete contrast to my previous move with this company. As a result, they lost a repeat client who would likely have continued using their services. I hope the company takes this seriously, because behavior like this damages trust and reputation.

I am happily writing this review. California Movers did a fantastic job of moving me from Southern California to Northern California. They were prompt, courteous and professional. The 2 gentlemen handling my move were very thoughtful and thorough. I had not finished packing everything and they carefully packed and wrapped my furniture. They were quick , efficient and hard working. My furniture was delivered on time and quickly unloaded. Thank you so much for taking the stress out of the move. Judy

I cannot recommend California Movers enough! From the moment I booked them to the final item being unloaded, they were professional, efficient, and incredibly careful with all my belongings. The team arrived right on time, worked quickly without cutting corners, and handled everything with care — including fragile and bulky items. What really stood out was their positive attitude and excellent communication. They made what is usually a stressful experience feel smooth and even enjoyable. Every member of the crew was courteous, respectful, and clearly took pride in their work.

I highly recommend California Movers! They were very professional on the phone and in person. Everything was wrapped perfectly and nothing got damaged during the move. Misha was great to work with. He handled everything super calmly and efficiently. We were so happy we had to pose for a picture with him. Worth every penny!

Maks and Aibek were amazing!!!! I could not recommend them more highly. They were polite and very professional. I had a lot of really difficult to move large pieces of furniture through narrow stairs and they moved everything without any damage. They were extremely fast but also very careful. I would definitely book them for any future moving tasks. Thank you so much for making moving as minimally stressful as possible.
