I highly recommend Rut for a consistent (over two dozen visits), affordable, and pleasant haircut. The hot towel scalp massage afterwards is really relaxing.

Showed a picture of the haircut I wanted to the hairdresser and they didn't even get close. Specifically asked to keep front long and it was cut very short. Wouldn't go to B&C unless you want the most basic of haircuts.

Loan did an excellent job cutting my hair. I provided a photo and asked for a 2 on the sides, and she delivered. It was also a nice touch that they offered a complimentary warm towel massage to help remove loose hair after the cut. The result was an excellent, good-looking, professional haircut with no hair left on my head, neck, or clothes.

Great neighborhood barber shop! The staff are all super friendly and they almost always have a short wait for walk-ins or quick call aheads. Definitely come with a photo or good explanation of what you want, and if you do they can make it a reality. They also do kids cuts and are super patient and kind with kids. Another highlight -- the prices are super reasonable for a haircut in DC!

May become my go-to for haircuts: great hair styles at an affordable price. Have gone only once, but stylist - shout-out to Tony! - immediately understood my style without having to specify it too much (showed a picture of a previous haircut I wanted to replicate and it was indeed replicated pretty accurately). Plus, neighborhood entails for a nice walk.
