I got an Elite Pass for a session at BASK Detroit, so I decided to give it a try — and I’m so glad I did. I had such a great experience from start to finish. The staff were warm and welcoming from the moment I walked in. I arrived a little early for my appointment, and she happily accommodated me, which I truly appreciated. Check-in was seamless, and since it was my first time, she explained everything clearly and answered all my questions. The space felt very clean, modern, and thoughtfully designed. Although it was on the smaller side, it was used very effectively and never felt crowded. The women’s locker room was exceptionally well equipped with every amenity you could need — Dyson hairdryers, Therabreath mouthwash, a bidet toilet, a swimsuit dryer, a comfortable changing area, and clear signage noting that each guest was allowed three towels per visit. The lockers had digital locks with wristband access, which made everything secure and convenient. Everything felt intentional and high-end. They had four cold plunge tubs (55°F, 50°F, 45°F, and 35°F), along with Shinola clocks by each tub and inside the sauna to easily track time. They encouraged staying in the cold tub for up to three minutes. I completed four cold plunges in total, gradually building my tolerance with 15-minute sauna sessions in between. By the final rounds, I stayed in for the full three minutes. What started as “I’ll try this once” turned into me not wanting to leave. There were small tables near the tubs to relax, FAQ sheets explaining the benefits of cold plunge and sauna, patio seating available, and flavored tea and water to sip. No photography was allowed near the tubs or sauna (which I respected for privacy), but photos were permitted in the locker rooms. Street parking was full when I arrived. The only free spots available were 15-minute limited-time restaurant pickup spaces, so I decided to park in the closest parking garage instead, which worked out well. They also had merchandise available to shop. This definitely was an experience. I left feeling rejuvenated, refreshed, and energized for the rest of the day and was already planning my next visit. Overall, it was a clean, modern, elevated wellness experience that I highly recommended.

Great experience. Very relaxing. The sauna is hot and refreshing. It is spacious and did not feel too crowded. They have four cold plunge tubs that have four different temperatures but even the warmest is very cold at 55° but you can get used to it. The staff is very helpful, especially to a first timer. It’s not a very big space but no one is uncomfortable and you can meet some nice people who will encourage you to take the plunge. They provide ice, water, and various teas. They had Rishi Tea when I went. And they have the “good” ice. The locker rooms have just about everything you probably forgot to bring. They have showers, Japanese toilets, and they provide you with a locker key bracelet that is water proof and doesn’t bother you in the sauna. They have membership levels or daily entrances with a fee.

A beautiful facility with an amazing concept & great staff! Very grateful for the opportunity to try them out with Yelp! No pictures because this felt like a private treat :) **Be warned that this is a co-ed facility - which was a bit intimidating for me personally - but there are small, separate locker rooms. There are some areas for improvement: 1) Top lockers are way too tall - even for me at 5'9". If you have a top locker you have to climb up to use it. 2) Need better drainage. Standing water everywhereeee - so be very careful walking. Wouldn't recommend to anyone with limited mobility. 3) Hoping this facility has the support to grow into a bigger space to offer separate tubs for genders.

BASK was amazing. The facilities are so clean and very easy to access. The staff were super helpful and friendly. Try out the cold plunge, it will really get you going. The locker room is immaculately clean and very private. Also, try the Japanese toilets.
