Jerell absolutely made our experience special! He is the reason our experience was so special! He is professional, his attention to details is amazing, and super personable! I set up a video call with Dr Banks. She was not even professional enough to turn on her camera. She called me the wrong name and got an attitude when I wanted to confirm that she knew who she was talking to. I think it’s fair to ensure that if I go in for liposuction I don’t come out with a BBL because you got your patients wrong. Maybe if she had the camera on she would not have made that mistake. Very unprofessional. This is why black businesses don’t thrive. They want you to pay top dollar for poor service and poor attitudes. There are plenty of board certified surgeons that will gladly take my $12k.

This is a beautiful spa that surprised me with such a variety of services and spaces that made me feel relaxed and comfortable. I did the Halotherapy which was perfect for fighting the winter weather. My guest and I felt like we have the entire spa to ourselves from the time we entered. Even as other guests were being serviced, it never interfered with our experience. Also I appreciate how kind and thoughtful the staff was in receiving us as guests. Highly recommended!

I called to see if I could book 2 people at the same time for the 90 min body polish (not necessarily in the same room) since it wasn't offered online and the woman I spoke to booked us in. The morning of our appointment I got a call saying that our "back to back" services could now be accommodated at the same time. I called back confused because when I originally booked them...it was for the same time and I wanted to make sure that there wasn't a mixup. Whatever issue there was seemed to be fixed so we went about our day until our appointment. When we got to Art of Balance the staff at the front desk was very professional and friendly. As we were walking back to the changing rooms he said something about our "Grotto experience". I asked what that was since we booked the body polish. He was confused and took us back to the front desk. We had been booked for the wrong service and told that he thought it was odd we were previously (incorrectly) booked for back-to-back Grotto experiences since it is (can be) a couples experience. We were informed that the body polish could only be offered for 1 person at a time so my husband opted for a massage instead. And instead of the 90 min treatment time it there were only 50 mins time slots available for each of our treatments. We were disappointed but decided to make the best of it. The changing rooms and lounge areas were very nice. There are separate lounges and saunas for men and women in their changing area as well as a coed lounge that overlooks the patio. The scrub was better than I imagined, thank you David. It was rougher than any scrub I had before but well needed in the winter. What I didn't realize was that the "steam shower" after is 20min of a private tiled steam room that felt amazing and a connecting private 7-8 headed shower - I jumped between the two several times and could have spent another 20mins in there. In the shower there was shampoo, conditioner, and soap. After you're done warmed towels, body lotion, and ice water are waiting for you until your provider returns. My only suggestion would be to show guests how to use the shower before the service begins, it was way too hot for me and in the steam it was clunky trying to figure out how the shower worked and I kept shutting it off in an attempt to turn down the temperature slightly. Afterward we didn't feel rushed at all, had time to dry my hair and prepare to head to the airport. My husband loved his massage and the sauna in the mens room. Next time we're in Baltimore, we'll be back. Overall: amazing treatments, serene facilities, and accommodating, skilled & friendly staff. The booking process can use some improvement.

KNOW IN ADVANCE: Unexpected $63 "service charge" made the $25 add-on scalp therapy cost $88 in the end. Apparently part of the service charge goes to the therapist. IN SUMMARY: The spa is quaint, complete with co-ed lounge and outdoor courtyard, private locker room, sauna, showers and women's lounge. Come for a service and the Ritz Carlton Residences valet is included. The use of the entire facility is also for you to enjoy - best to arrive early and use the sauna because they close at 4p so you may not have time after. COVID guidelines are being followed. 👍🏼 They provide you with robe, flip flops, hair brush, hair band, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, mouthwash, ear swabs. Tea, water & snacks too. Stacy was a great therapist 💜
