I ordered a Cuban, a Reuben, and potato wedges. The food wasn't particularly good or hot. As someone else had noted about the Reuben - the sauerkraut was incredibly bland and it had hardly any thousand island About the Cuban - it was so dry. It felt like I was trying to swallow chewed up cardboard. It was cut in half and somehow the center of the Cuban was the driest part. About the potato wedges - they looked great! And tasted like I had brought them home overnight and then microwaved them again the next day. Soggy. The great news is that my mediocre food came out in 6 minutes...

This place is simply not good. I’ve eaten here twice, which is one more time than it deserved. I assumed the first visit was user error. Today I ordered a Reuben—a sandwich so foolproof it has survived generations of short-order cooks and hungover line chefs. Somehow, they found a way. The meat was tough, the sauerkraut barely present, and the Thousand Island was either missing or hiding in witness protection. Then comes the pricing, which is treated like a classified document until the moment of payment. For two people to have two sandwiches, two drinks, two bags of chips—$44 and change. No warning. No justification. No remorse. This is not a dining experience; it’s a lesson in lowered expectations. You’ll eat better, pay less, and leave happier at Jimmy John’s or Jersey Mike’s—places that at least know what business they’re in.

We asked Yelp for a deli along our route and it recommended 51st Deli. A good choice though parking is a challenge here. Mrs. K. studied the menu and opted for the lox on a bagel. She enjoyed it and was impressed that they did include the capers but wondered why the bagel wasn't toasted. I chose the first sandwich on the list, the Italian. A nice collection of meats and cheese and veggies on bread that didn't seem "day of" to me. Maybe it is and we ordered late in the day? The drink coolers can't be beat. Many, many options from macro pops to small local cans. We struggled to choose! Overall, decent. A solid four star experience with our sandwiches from 51st Deli - Nations.

ok so my mans took me to get the 51st Morning Breakfast Burritos & it was straight, my only critique was that it was a lil smaller than i’d prefer flavors was good & they had a lot of fresh items so i do want to go back and discover the menu more actually burrito was good enough that i forgot to take a picture chat… #myfault

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 51st Deli is hands down one of the best spots in Nashville! Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or meeting up with friends, this place has it all. As a vegetarian, I have to say their black bean burger is the best I’ve had in the Nashville area! The patty is perfectly seasoned, hearty, and full of flavor—seriously, it’s a must-try. Even if you’re not vegetarian, there’s something for everyone. The Legend sub is another favorite of mine—fresh, loaded, and incredibly satisfying. Their service is always quick and friendly, and the laid-back atmosphere keeps me coming back. If you’re in the area, don’t miss out on this gem!
