Riley Moving and Storage

The estimate for the move was not very good. Because of the low estimate and how it was presented we thought it was a good choice to have Riley Moving & Storage, move and store our possession. It was agreed to have days, one to pack and one to get the stuff in a truck. So we made plans to be gone after the second day of moving. Someone decided that the movers could do it in one day. But when the men (4) came there was no way the move could be packed and in the truck in one day. Now that placed us with only being at our home for one day as plans had already been made to stay in a hotel in Kansas City, 185 miles away. The BIG PROBLEM was the estimate was for 13 box’s to be packed and it ended up with 71. Very bad estimate. It also left me wondering if everything was packed because we were not at our house the second day. So did not get an account of all that was shipped. Then I get a call from Scott telling me the $6000 move was now $11000. After a brief talk the price was reduced $200. BIG DEAL. Had to call Brenda to get in invoice for the move. Didn’t see some important woodworking tools and wood on the invoice. So had to call my Realtor to go down to my house and check to see if it was still there. She informed me it was gone. So called Brenda again and she said it looks like on page 11 & 12 is your woodworking stuff. By the way BRENDA has by very helpful and always has been honest with me. So she sends me pages 11 & 12. Can’t really see the wood on the pages but will wait and see. Scott also calls me and wants to know if I want my things to be stored in Iowa or Texas. We are moving to TEXAS of course that’s where I want them stored. So not happy with this Company.

Jayson arrived promptly as arranged to look at the household and provide an estimate of the cost for my out of state move. Sergio with Allied Van Lines showed up on time on the scheduled moving day. The crew loading the truck did an amazing job and were very respectful of my home and my property. My stuff arrived on time as promised at my new home and the unloading went as well as the loading had. No complaints. No issues! The way you want an out-of-state move to go. Thank you!!

This was by far the best out of state move I've had. The packing and loading was great, it was -25 windchill and the guys got it done. In the past it is the unloading that causes me the biggest problem. Everything was unloaded and placed in the room designated on the box. Each room was so neatly stacked with boxes that when it came time to unpack it was so easy. Don and Chris handled this move flawlessly. Everyone that was hired to assist them was professional. I also want to thank Brenda, in the office, for running point and taking all my calls. Moving is stressful so having a moving company that was professional and courteous. Hopefully, I never move again, but if I do I know who to call.

Riley did s fine job with our move. This was our first cross-country move, and they helped us through it. Our driver and loading crew were particularly good at their jobs. it would be nice to know a little earlier in the process what the dates are, but I understand that's not always easy to do.

We moved twice in four months. Riley moving was very helpful in answering our questions and were very polite. Drivers and the moving crews were very good and hard working. Another great thing was that instead of changing us more, the first move weighed less than the estimated weight for the move. Our cost was reduced. Very honest. We highly recommend them!
