Let me help some people out. My opinion only. I joined, then cancelled after two weeks. It’s a great gym, amazing even. If you’re under 40. I’ve been a gym rat for 30 years. There comes a time when it’s okay to go to a “gym” that has a hot tub or a full restaurant in it. Sometimes you outgrow the sweaty, stinky, iron clanging, grunting people in the gym. It’s ooooookay. Having said that, 20 years ago I would have been in paradise. I feel like it’s more for the bodybuilding crowd but nothing wrong with that!

It’s a great clean gym with lots of high end equipment, friendly staff and access to a lot of different pieces of machines ranging from the mid 90s to brand new top of the line. There are some drawbacks though. I’ve been going here since I bought a 1 year membership back in November. And generally speaking. There hasn’t been much in the realms of waiting for equipment. They repair their machines in a timely manner. Are constantly adding new machines to the mix. You’re probably thinking. Wow. This gym sounds great. Why the 3 stars? Well. It’s a massive facility located in an industrial/ commercial complex. So parking is ass. You basically go at an off peak time so you get a parking spot or drive around the building like you’re at an outlet mall during Christmas waiting for someone to leave. Or hey. If you drive a truck you can just park on a snowbank or drive up and park on the sidewalk. And unfortunately it’s not like they can fix the parking issue. So as more members sign up and join the gym. It’s consistently gets worse. It’s at the point where I’d be willing to pay a premium every month for a guaranteed parking spot. That’s one complaint. The second is the locker situation. There’s never any available lockers. So I just wear sweats to the gym. Ball them up and toss em in the corner. If someone steals them I’m out 40$ and it’s a cold walk to the car. But when you’re paying 135$ a month you’d kind of expect some basic criteria to be met. Parking. And lockers. In the summer I can’t imagine lockers being an issue. But in the winter it sucks. That’s being said. It’s a great gym and I’ll continue to use it until my membership expires. But I’m actively looking for other alternatives that cover the parking and locker complaints I have.

Reviewed on November 28, 2025 If the words “gym paradise” and “iron therapy” had a love child, it would be Pure Muscle + Fitness. First things first, free parking. Already a small victory in this world of ticket-happy municipalities and tight spots made for tiny cars. From the outside, Pure Muscle looks like a Soviet brick fortress, not the kind of place you’d expect to find a curated temple of hypertrophy. But walk in, and boom, it’s massive. Like, so massive you could get lost somewhere between quads and delts. Over 300 machines. Not one broken. Not one “Out of Order” sign held up with Scotch tape and sadness. And among all of them, our favourites were the NEWTECH strength machines. Sleek, sturdy, and ergonomically designed to fit your body, whether you’re 5’0” or 6’7”, male or female. The customization and adjustability on these things? Chef’s kiss. The type of equipment that makes you want to do one more set just because it feels that good. It’s clear Pure Muscle didn’t just fill a warehouse with weights, they curated a serious lifter’s heaven. They’ve also got all the cardio staples covered, including treadmills, spin bikes, ellipticals, and even that Stairmaster machine that feels like climbing to nowhere. The vibes? Friendly. The people? Focused, not selfie-obsessed. Special shoutout to Memphis at the front desk, helpful, knowledgeable, and he signed us up with a key fob to the palace. There’s also a smoothie bar up front with protein shakes and HD muscle products for sale in case you forgot your pre or post-workout fuel. Now, for the one weird part: the unisex change rooms. Not ideal. Yes, there are private bathrooms if you’re modest or just not into sharing change space with strangers of any gender. But let’s be real, not everyone is comfortable in a co-ed change room environment. Hopefully the very insightful owner, Dorian, will tweak that in future plans. That said, if you’re someone who lives to lift or just wants to train in a serious, clean, complete facility, this place will make you want to cancel your current gym membership, toss it into a NewTech leg press, and max out until it snaps. Final verdict: Massive gym, elite equipment, good energy, and a front desk guy named Memphis who deserves a raise. The change room setup is a minor hiccup in what’s otherwise a top-tier experience.

Visited Pure Muscle and Fitness on 10/25 and thoroughly enjoyed myself. I've been to the location several times over the last couple of years and the gym never disappoints. It is by FAR the best fitness facility I've ever been to. The equipment is second to none with ownership bringing in the latest and greatest new weightlifting technology to the facility. The new equipment is fantastic and I'll use this analogy to describe the facility. I'm a huge golfer and play the nicer courses in the Western New York (Buffalo) and Niagara Falls, Ontario area each year. Usually, once a year, I'll go on a very nice golf trip, say Pebble Beach to splurge and really go to a top notch course. Well, from a lifting standpoint, THIS IS the Pebble Beach of weightlifting. What a treat this is. I've been fortunate to travel extensively throughout the United States, and I've been to a lot of the best gyms in the country. I've been to "The Mecca" Venice Beach Golds Gym, been to Vegas, Arizona, Florida, New York. None of these can compare to the equipment, the atmosphere and the people. Just a great trip. I just wish it were a little closer to Buffalo. Look forward to the next time I can return to Pure Muscle and Fitness!

Great place! I drove from Kitchener to have a workout and it was great. Right from the beginning, the guy working the front desk was really cool. I was like a kid in a candy store in there. Best gym I've been to my far, GoodLife is now feeling like I'm driving a 92 Tercel 🙂 will be going back again.
