Overall a very good PF Gym. THE BAD: If y’all could start timing out the Spa reservations for when the next time slot starts that’d be fantastic. Too many members like to reserve a “1:45pm” time slot for the total body fitness but don’t actually finish their workout and get into the room until 1:55pm. This means that someone who’s reserved the 2:00pm slot may now be delayed as much as 15 minutes based on max time and delay. Not always a big deal but this has happened every day I’ve reserved a time session the last couple months. Will update to 5 Stars if this gets corrected.

Deeply disturbing experience here today. TVs were mistuned to a channel not listed on signage. My run was cut short by the broadcasting of a program where a moose was shot and left to drown in the river with a close-up clip of the bubbles of its last breaths leaving its nose. While obviously distressed I asked if this channel could be changed, the channel wasn’t changed until the program was over. When asking how this is going to be prevented in the future and also asking for an apology, staff told me they wouldn’t be apologizing and that they held no responsibility for how the TV channels are tuned (which seems ludicrous considering they were able to correct the issue after). If watching animal suffering doesn’t pump you up for a work out, this might not be the place for you!

This planet fitness is equipped with modern machines. Its a pretty good planet, its well maintained & cleaned. Very spacious compared to a few others ive been to.

Pretty good gym. I wish they would update some of their equipment that is worn out. The south jordan planet fitness just got all new equipment and their old equipment was in better shape than this locations machines. Need more stair steppers

They should rename this gym to “Planet Cardio” because that seems to be their main focus. I counted AT LEAST 90 cardio specific machines. I estimate their cardio equipment accounts for 40% of their total gym floor. That’s insane. The heaviest dumbbell is 75lbs. Also, insane. This business (not just this location) has this “no ego” mantra which I find very uninspiring and unmotivating. While I personally do not believe in “ego lifting” because it hinders progress, this company is going overboard with their seemingly WOKE stance on fitness. They hide little stickers all over the gym that constantly remind you “ego is bad”. I’m not even kidding, I had to laugh out loud. It’s ridiculous. I agree, being egotistical can be bad, but in the context of personal development, especially in a gym setting where the goal (should be) to increase body health, lose fat, and replace it with lean muscle, constantly telling your customers to “take it easy, guy, this is a no ego zone” in my opinion will do nothing but hold people back subconsciously. I could go on and on about this particular topic, but that’s not what this review is about! Anyways, some positives I found at this location, and keep in mind, this is the only PF I have ever been to: the men’s locker room was very nice. No bad odors, soft lighting, clean, tons of space and lockers. Two thumbs up for the locker room. The temperature inside the gym: very nice and clearly air conditioned. It was 95 degrees outside when I worked out here, and the ambient temperature inside the gym felt very nice and cool. The staff: I came into the gym having already downloaded their app as the Internet said it was the easiest way to obtain a free day pass. When I arrived I told the guy at the front that I had a day pass, he said ok, I scanned it, he said enjoy. No unnecessary tour, no sales pitch. Very nice. The crowd: not crowded at all. It was 2pm on a Friday when I was there and I didn’t see there being any wait for any piece of equipment or machines ESPECIALLY the cardio machines HAHA! Final thoughts: If your main goal is gentle, slow muscle growth with very little inspiration or physical discomfort, this gym is for you. If your goal is cardio, THIS GYM IS FOR YOU. But if you’re looking to build large amounts of muscle, be motivated by a likeminded atmosphere with likeminded athletes who are also there to push themselves to the max in order to achieve the body of their dreams, this is 150% not the gym for you. And no offense to the patrons of this gym, and I was only there for an hour (I couldn’t wait to get out of there), 9 out of 10 people looked out of shape and bored. And that’s a very good indicator of the atmosphere. No ego, no results.
