Planet Fitness

This isn't my usual Planet Fitness. I was in San Antonio a few days and went twice. Overall it's ok. I liked the large fans over the cardio area. But one thing that bothered me was their disinfectant spray. It seemed to be completely water or EXTREMELY watered down. I like to wipe down the hand grips before I use the equipment and then wipe down gain after I'm done. The paper towel was completely saturated. I thought it may be the cheap paper towels. To be fair, they all go through tons of them. I tried spraying it in my hand and no foam or bubbles. I couldn't detect a chemical smell. I tried putting some on a small cut and barely any burn. I also noticed the trash can where most people spray the towels had water droplets beaded up on it and dripping into the can. I've not seen this at any other Planet Fitness. I don't expect a gym to be "pristine" but at least use something that actually cleans things so we don't spread cold and flu. I'd have given four stars if not for this. Oh also the message chairs (not the hydro ones) were coin operated. Not that you had to pay, they give you the coins. But they weren't very good.

The facility is very clean and not crowded. Everything is in the right place and easy to find. Although the women at the front desk around 9pm was rude, not friendly and not welcoming I do still give 5 stars. When I walked to the scanner at the front the women pulled it from under the counter while still on the phone and not making eye contact whatsoever. When I started walking away she called for me and asked directly when I would be making a payment for the account. I answered saying maybe by the next day or the day after. She then stated she would LET me check in today and that I would immediately need to make that payment. I was surprised because the app lets me check in one time before I make the payment which should not cause any issues when I go scan. Nor do I need to be reminded at the front desk when the app tells me every time I click it open. Thanks for the great gym, not so sure about the service.

I workout over night around 10:30/11 and the tall guy that works the desk is on his phone takes awhile before he actually acknowledges anyone.I don’t know his name he wasn’t wearing a name tag like everyone else does. If I could give no stars I’d give none! He’s very unprofessional not someone that should be working the front to greet members in, especially since he doesn’t greet anyone at all. I recently visited this Planet Fitness location as part of my routine of exploring different facilities to better understand the variations among them. In my assessments, I typically evaluate several key factors, including the availability of equipment, the layout of the gym—especially the ab area—as well as the functionality and user-friendliness. Customer service is another critical aspect; I place significant importance on whether the staff greets members upon entry and how accessible they are for assistance. During my visit, I found that this particular Planet Fitness had a substantial number of broken machines, with several signs indicating out-of-order equipment. This was disappointing, as it greatly affected the workout experience. In terms of cleanliness, the facility was maintained at a decent standard, which I appreciated. However, a notable downside was the requirement to bring a personal lock for the lockers, as the gym does not provide combination locks for the quick lockers. This lack of convenience was somewhat surprising. The size of the gym is comparable to the typical Planet Fitness setup, falling into what I would describe as a medium-sized category. The number of treadmills available was adequate for the flow of foot traffic. However, I did find the presence of Smith machines to be lacking, which is an important aspect for those focusing on specific strength training areas. Overall, I would recommend this Planet Fitness location, primarily for its decent size and typical amenities. However, the numerous broken machines detracted from the overall experience, which is why I rated it at four stars. I look forward to returning in the hope that the equipment issues will be resolved.

It's something you have to see it to believe it; the facility, equipment, price and perks.. A 5 Star facility at a price everyone can afford. Thanks Planet Fitness for being Awesome 😎...
