I came to this location for the first time over the weekend in an effort to find an alternative to my expensive boutique gym. The WSC in Adams Morgan was always fantastic so I had high hopes. Upon entry, the front desk attendant asked me to step back to take a photo because it was my first time. I bumped into a man who was so close to me that I did not even take a full step back and I bumped into him. I apologized smiling and immediately yelled at me and shoulder checked me to the side to get to the scanner. When I audibly reacted with a “Oh my god” because I was startled, he proceeded to berate me for another 60 seconds and desk guy did and said nothing, watching the entire interaction happen wordlessly. Another member who was waiting at the entrance had to be the one to tell the man to back off. I was completely shaken as a 5’3 woman to have such an insane interaction with a man significantly larger than me and the desk attendant said nothing to him nor did he apologize to me afterwards. I went to the locker room tearfully, completed my workout with the man watching me from a distance my entire workout making me extremely uncomfortable. I confronted the front desk attendant upon entry and promptly cancelled my membership. The only reason for 2 stars is the equipment was plentiful, albeit not well taken care of.

Huge facility with lots of great cardio equipment and free weights. The staff is fantastic, and the hours are good. Many of the machines are older and need to be replaced, and the gym should definitely purchase more towels for its members.

The front desk gentleman is SO nice & I had a chat with a staffer, Flora, very friendly. The main manager is also always pleasant. I should remember his name but I don't. I really only use the pool, sauna & now the AMAZING massage chairs!

The highlight of this gym is the staff. Both trainers and team are great. But since I’ve joined over the past two years, I have seen a steady decrease in group classes, especially ones in the morning before work. They keep increasing the membership price while decreasing the class offerings and equipment does not seem to be updated very often. The membership feels as though it is becoming less and less worth it especially with how high the turnover in staff and trainers seems to be.

Great location and layout but equipment is neglected and in some cases dangerous. Take this pulley trainer. It’s “out of order” a lot and they never actually fix it because ITS BROKEN! The arms dislodge in the middle of a rep. The pulley cord covers are broken so it catches as you workout. And it’s dangerous. Replace it. Have some respect for your clients.
