I came to this firm with a case that had already been started. It wasn't going very well and I needed lawyers who actually knew what they were doing. On my intake appointment with Augustine, it was clear that he understood what was going on in my case. He never sugar-coated what was going on or what my options were. Office is nice and centrally located in Omaha, office staff friendly and helpful to start. I could recommend if you’re definitely in need of a lawyer definitely. Although I disagree on how I was dealt with as a potential customer. To book an appointment, it is $275 and I did that only being allowed to over the phone, not at the desk while I was right there. (Different) My wife and I finally decided to make a notarized agreement a couple days prior to going in to meet with a lawyer. So not being just 24 hours or less I cancelled and asked for a refund and thanked them for their help only to be told, you cannot have a refund. After mentioning I’m not aware of a no refund policy, I nicely mentioned there was no services rendered at all so I don’t believe it’s proper of a business to blindside potential clients especially if it’s not mentioned either on their website, in person, over the phone giving my credit card or receipt emailed to me. To me this is captive booking and needs to be more transparent. I simply asked whomever on the phone to suggest changes and it seemed to be a bad suggestion to her and didn’t matter. After stating my point she finally came back on the phone to say we will give you a one time credit but we will bar you from ever using any of their services at all. I think if you’re in the business to make money and help people in a possible need, your office should not just slam the door on someone that has a change of plans. Instead, say thank you for considering us, yes we will refund you because you politely called in, in a timely manner and we look forward to hearing from you soon. Instead, I’m not going to be the word of mouth person for you. $250 charge to lose $5000 potential is a bad gamble. But, again, thank you for what little help you did. I guarantee I will not be back!!
