I recently closed on a property and unfortunately had a very frustrating experience with the seller’s realtor, Hanna. The primary issue was a consistent lack of attention to detail, which made the entire process far more stressful than it needed to be—especially since I was purchasing from out of state and relied heavily on accurate information. Several items we followed up on prior to closing were either incorrectly confirmed or not verified at all. For example, I specifically asked whether the mailbox was at the house after noticing it was missing during my tour. I was told that it was, only to discover after closing (the soonest I could physically get to the property) that it was not—only the wooden post remained. While my own agent also shares responsibility for missing this, the inaccurate response added unnecessary frustration. There were other similar issues. The listing described the water heater as “newer,” but it turned out to be 9 years old and had multiple problems. This again reflected a lack of care in verifying details. We also requested that trees be trimmed so they were not touching the house after finding them touching power lines and the roof during the inspection. We were told this had been done, yet during the final walkthrough, it was clear that it had not. I understand that agents may rely on third parties or sellers for updates, but I would expect important items to be verified to avoid repeated follow-ups and confusion. Additionally, while a moldy refrigerator was removed, the area underneath was left dirty and sticky, with no effort made to clean it. Leaving a home in that condition felt careless. Overall, I was not impressed with the level of diligence on the purchasing side and would not choose to work with this agent- from either side of a transaction. Perhaps my expectations are shaped by previous realtors who went above and beyond, but this purchasing experience fell very short. I’m sharing this review so others—especially out-of-state buyers or those who rely on realtors expertise & attention to detail—can be aware and proceed with caution.
