MedStar Health: Urgent Care at Adams Morgan

This is one of the best urgent care experiences I've ever experienced. I came in Feb 28th and both ladies are the desk were amazing. Just very welcoming the minute I walked in. Once I was in the nurse that took my vitals laughed at all my stupid jokes because I joke about everything. My favorite person was the lady that took my X-rays. Her name is Catherine. She was very accommodating and honestly made my whole experience. Protect this lady!

Not great tbh, except for a couple wonderful staff. One star for being a functioning medical facility; another for them accomplishing what needed to be done (x-ray and boot for my broken foot); and another for Cheynnie the nurse & Mohammad the x-ray tech’s kindness! However I arrived there at 5pm, was first seen by a nurse at 7:30pm, and was finally done around 9pm which felt pretty ridiculous, and some of the other staff weren’t particularly nice. It’s a baseline ok option for urgent care in Admo but be prepared to spend 2-4 hours there. Note that you can’t leave to get food or anything without losing your place in line, so bring snacks. Also, many staff and most sick patients were wearing surgical masks which is better than nothing, but I wish that they would require higher quality respirator masks (KN95 or N95) that were actually effective at protecting people from airborne diseases like Covid, flu, and measles (and are way more comfy than surgicals anyway!!). Being in there for so long with sick people, even in my N95, was pretty nerve-racking for me as an immunocompromised person who has Long Covid.

I visited the urgent care location in Adams Morgan on Sunday. This was my second visit to this particular facility. The service has consistently been good, and the doctors, nurses, and medical assistants are always professional and helpful. The only downside is that there do not seem to be enough providers available for the number of patients being seen. On this particular day, we were informed that the wait time would be approximately three hours. After my vitals were taken, a staff member suggested that I consider a telehealth visit. I had never done a telehealth appointment before, but he explained that it would provide the same quality of care as an in-person visit, just virtually, and would significantly reduce my wait time. I agreed, and I was seen much sooner. The virtual visit was efficient and still provided high-quality care.

I had an exceptional experience at MedStar Urgent Care in Adams Morgan, and I truly want to recognize the entire team for the level of care I received. From the moment I walked in, the front desk staff was welcoming, organized, and efficient, which immediately put me at ease. Check‑in was quick, and the environment felt clean, calm, and well maintained. The triage process was smooth and respectful, with staff who were patient and attentive throughout. My nurse practitioner, Nurse Burnett, was outstanding. They took the time to listen carefully to my concerns, asked thoughtful questions, and explained everything in a clear and reassuring way. Their attentiveness made me feel genuinely cared for rather than rushed, which is something I really appreciated. What stood out most was how consistently pleasant and professional every single person was—whether I was interacting with them directly or just passing them in the hallway. There was a clear sense that the staff works well together and prioritizes patient comfort. Overall, my visit was fast, easy, and handled with exceptional care. I’m truly grateful for the experience and would highly recommend this urgent care location to anyone in need of prompt and compassionate medical attention.

I had a great experience at MedStar Urgent Care. I scheduled an appointment and the front desk staff made check-in quick and easy. I only waited about 10 minutes in the lobby before being seen. The medical staff who took my vitals was very gentle and explained everything clearly, which helped me feel at ease. I then met Dr. K, who was kind, attentive, and made me feel comfortable. He explained everything I needed to do to improve my health in a way that was easy to understand. The woman who did my X-ray was wonderful—funny, personable, and made the process comfortable. I received all the care I needed and had my results in about 35 minutes. Overall, the visit was smooth, efficient, and reassuring. I definitely recommend MedStar Urgent Care to anyone in need of prompt medical attention.
