LaSala Real Estate, LLC

My lease just got bought out on 12/19/25 by LaSala Real Estate, LLC. There was no communication from the company until January 1st, 2026. That communication was an email inviting me to activate an online portal on their website in order to pay them. I had no idea who this company was or if the email was legitimate because they had failed to introduce themselves to me beforehand. The previous owner of the property, HartZito Properties, LLC, had been very communicative via both text and email that the property had been sold. They did not mention to whom the property had been sold to, but they did explain the date of ownership transfer and that we should be expecting communication by the new owner. Unfortunately, that communication never came. I had to reach out to the previous owners at HartZito to verify who the new owners were and if the email I was sent was legitimate. I did also reach out to LaSala via email to ask the same question. I also scoured their website to review their property portfolio and did not see my building within their portfolio. This was a horrible start to 2026 for me. My New Year's Day was filled with anxiety and dread. The previous owners had been extremely human-centered and had worked with me through the start up of my business as well as a stage 4 breast cancer diagnosis. This new company couldn't even bother to send an email introduction to me. I pay over $2200/month to rent a three room basement suite only for my introduction to this company to be a request to pay them. What a slap in the face. To make matters worse, when I did finally hear back from LaSala, I was told that they had sent a letter of introduction...via snail mail...during the holidays. No one is on-site during the holidays. They took over on 12/19/25 and sent a letter via post?!? I'm baffled and honestly feeling quite hurt by how unprofessional this has been. I expressed how upset I was and how I felt incredibly disrespected only to be told "I'm sorry you feel that way". WOWWWWWWWW. LaSala needs to do better. I'm desperately searching for whether or not I can move elsewhere, but it looks like I'm legally locked in for the next 3 years. I think I'll probably be seeking legal counsel in order to figure out my options. This is such a shame because I love my little space and so do the kids that I teach. I refuse to be treated as just a number to add to someone else's investment account though. I have no clue why LaSala decided that a letter via post was a proper introduction or why they thought anyone would be at their business location checking the mail during the holidays. I can only hope that they do actually do better moving forward and that a sincere apology is sent out--not just to myself, but to the multitude of tenants in the three properties they purchased.

I would strongly recommend working with the LaSala Real Estate team. They are friendly & professional, and by far the most organized process beginning with property walk through application, follow up and finalizing the agreement.

LaSala Real Estate did a great job of helping my wife and me find our dream home. They negotiated a great price, helped us through the entire process, attended the inspection and closing to make sure everything went smoothly. I would strongly recommend and work with them again.

The owner of Lasala real estate is the best. He takes good care of his properties and his tenants. Whenever my husband and I have had a problem in most cases he has sent someone out in hours. Yes I would recommend working with this company.
