The Operations Manager today treated Yaari so disrespectful as he explained to her and an older white man the process it takes to clean and sanitize the sauna. Yaari walked out of the gym and didn’t get to do her daily routine. She’s been working out 6 days a week faithful. We see her walk in the gym. Grab her free weights then disappear into the ladies locker room. Yup she works out in the sauna and they are now denying her that privilege. He told her it’s because the early morning is the time that the owner chose to clean the sauna 3 days per week due to not having a lot of members at the gym. The vibe in this gym is no longer peaceful. And he owes her an apology. That was rude. He basically told her that her routine does not matter in a place that only people with routines thrive. I can’t believe she walked out. She’s dedicated and faithful.

The Operations Manager stood firm as he expressed to Yaari this morning how he could not have been less concerned about her established routine she’s had for the last 4 years. This woman comes in daily between 5:15-5:30am and works out in the Sauna. To tell her that she now has to adjust her routine because of complaints about cleaning the sauna was crazy. She even asked why it has to be 3 days a week and pointed out the time they said cleaning was going to start and be completed. Because she came before the hours specified. He fired back with well it has to be cooled before she can start and once she’s finished everything has to settle so it won’t open back up at until that’s done. She stated so it’s open at 8am. He replied naw like 9 or 10am. What? The paper says from 6am until 8am and PROMPTLY opening back up at 8am. Clearly members who come in the morning before work don’t matter and will not have use of that sauna. He owes her an apology for real. He was disrespectful to her. I had to step over weights to workout today. Hopefully this comment doesn’t get the gym closed down to clean that up.

It’s a horrible thing to interrupt someone’s workout 3 days per week. This gym asked for reviews and apparently they came in. From the conversation I heard between a gym member who comes religiously and the operations manager many complaints came in about the cleanliness of the facilities. He didn’t care as he told her that this time was chosen because it’s the time when the gym didnt have many people attending. 🥴 So what about the ones who do? We pay the same amount as everyone else, but now get less 3 days per week. He blamed the owner. And stated this came from them. And if she wanted he could cancel her membership. If this didn’t send her a message that she doesn’t matter I don’t know what else would he was very rude to her and didn’t care. She walked out and didnt workout. People come here to release stress and at 5:25am he gave her nothing but stress.

Since joining back the “culture of gym etiquette” has changed. This gym location is not enforcing their rules to re-rack their weights, often leading you to hunt down dumbbells or avoid stepping over the plates left of the floor. Cleanliness has also been another issue they cannot get a grip on, by burning out through good employees or taking weeks before hiring ONE person to clean the entire gym. They are now implementing a new sauna cleaning schedule that shuts it down for 3 hours (they shut it off an hour before cleaning) 3x out of the week. Other gyms deep clean 1 out of the week and regularly clean in between. There’s no need for an excessive shut down that affects the gym crowd coming in before work. This location and management seem more divided than ever.

I recently moved near this location, and honestly, it was a bad decision. This is now the third consecutive Saturday that they have failed to open on time. Today, it is 8:35 a.m., and the business is still closed, even though it is supposed to open at 8:00 a.m. As a business owner who supports local businesses, this is unacceptable. I can’t imagine this happening at a franchise like LA Fitness. I am now looking for a new location that truly takes its business—and our time—seriously.
