LA Fitness

I’ve worked in operations and PT for the fitness industry since college. This gym is my local spot but not the company I work for. With a doubt they are incredible in terms of cleanliness through staffing at all open hours. Since it’s leadership through Terence the club manager there’ve had leaps in the quality of the membership offered. The machines and turf get deep cleaned daily. Classes are available and yes there is a sauna. The environment is a good mix. Beginners to people who are “really about it”. Highly recommend.

Solid gym overall. The equipment is good and the space is clean and easy to train in. The only thing I’d say is that it’s missing a few pieces that would really help with leg training—like a proper hack squat machine and a couple of other machines that make it easier to develop legs fully. Other than that, it’s a solid place to work out. Also shoutout to Terrence for taking the time to help me figure out how to properly modify a landmine row. Really appreciated the help.

The gym itself has an older feel, and I would appreciate seeing some modern, up-to-date equipment, especially since this is a signature LA Fitness location. The overall customer service is excellent. Terrance, in particular, helped me get started with my membership and always greets me by name, whether I enter at the front desk or while I am working out. All staff members consistently demonstrate professionalism and a customer-oriented attitude. I want to acknowledge the staff for their dedication and give credit where it is due.

You can tell he genuinely cares about the member experience, not just the operations. I really appreciate how approachable he is. He’s easy to talk to, doesn’t come off stiff or corporate, and actually listens when members have feedback. The few times I’ve seen issues or questions come up, he handles them professionally and with a calm, solution-focused mindset. That makes a big difference in a busy club like this one. You can also see his impact in the staff. The front desk is friendly, trainers are professional, and the overall vibe feels organized rather than chaotic — which is rare for a high-traffic gym. That kind of culture doesn’t just happen; it reflects Terence’s leadership. Overall, Terence makes this LA Fitness on Haskell Ave a better place to train.
