Gold's Gym - Dupont Circle

TaMon is the man! Was lucky enough to have him for my free training session (included w/ new member signups) and he was awesome at going over my goals, approving my workout plan, and giving me a confidence boost. (Great taste in anime, too.) The gym itself is clean, the equipment is in good condition, and the staff are friendly. Lockers are hit and miss -- as other reviews have mentioned, nearly half of them are busted or locked open at any given time -- but this isn't so much the gym's fault as the fault of people who screw up the locks and then don't bother to unlock them again. (Still, if I were management, I'd consider having an employee go down once or twice a day to "reset" all the locks.)

Gold Star Gym absolutely earns its name. The facility is spotless, the equipment is modern and well-maintained, and there’s enough variety to build serious strength without waiting around for machines. The atmosphere is focused but welcoming, which makes it easy to train hard without feeling judged. The staff is professional, attentive, and genuinely supportive. Whether you’re a beginner trying to find your rhythm or someone chasing performance goals, they take the time to help and create a motivating environment. What really stands out is the energy. It’s not chaotic, not overcrowded, just a place where people show up to work. If you’re serious about progress and want a gym that supports that mindset, Gold Star Gym delivers.

TaMon Hendricks did a fantastic job during my pre-training session with my Gold’s Gym membership. If you’re looking for a personal trainer, I highly recommend asking for him. As a woman, my fitness goals were very specific, and he was able to meet those niche goals in just one session. I learned so much and we went through all the workouts I wanted to focus on. He’s very patient and kind, but also tough in the best way to make sure you’re getting the most out of your training. He’s a wonderful coach and truly cares about helping you improve. It really enhanced my experience at the gym knowing I now have someone I can go to with questions and feel confident that I’m training correctly. Highly recommend!

I have been to about nineteen Golds Gyms now in my over eleven years as a member. This one was super clean and overall could utilize its floor space better with a few more pieces of essential workout equipment. The literal hole in the floor about took my left ankle out by the 125 dumb bells on the racks. It's a quick fix. Do that before someone gets hurt. A guy who has been there since it opened told me that it has been there since day one. The two leg presses, three flat back benches, an organized dumb bell racks, and a huge sauna 🙌

What a great gym! So glad that there’s a new Gold’s at Dupont Circle. Really great layout, new equipment, very clean. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The only negative that I did see was that one of the men’s toilets seemed to be broken as was mentioned in another review from a week ago. I would say that should be a priority to get fixed. It was not super busy when I was there so perfect for me. As with any gym in DC rush hours are always busy regardless of what gym you’re at. Thanks DCGolds for a great new gym for you members!
