Functional Idaho Strength & Mobility for Longevity

I joined Functional Idaho in August 2025 when it was still Jack City Fitness, and I’ve never experienced a gym community like this. The energy here is contagious – the coaches, bring real enthusiasm, encouragement, and compassion as they focus on a healthy mind, body and spirit. The upbeat vibe at the gym is different, it naturally creates a space where people connect, support each other and celebrate success together. The classes make it easy to show up and feel part of something bigger. You don’t have to plan a thing – the coaches guide you and push you in a way that feels personal and uplifting. I came looking for a gym and found a community that feels like home. The coaches have become friends, the vibe is unmatched in the Treasure Valley, and the 24/7 access is the bonus I needed to make it fit perfectly into my busy lifestyle. I love this place!

I have been at the gym for a year now and its excellent. Its pretty focused on free weights, which I love personally, but it also means you are not waiting around for a squat rack. The trainers are the most knowledgeable in the valley IMO. I have worked with David and Matt on injury prevention for running and its helped. Even outside of my sessions, the trainers are genuinely invested in my success and want to know about my progress. Its also a community of people serious about their fitness. I never see folks sitting around on their phones or strutting. Just getting work done. Even the older gym goers are getting after it. If you are serious about getting strong, this is the place to be.

Absolutely love this place. It’s def spendy and my only complaint is they don’t have any machines for some of the movements I personally like to do. But other than that love it. They have a sauna and a cold plunge which is nice, but most importantly quality racks and a hella good vibe. The staff is very fun and supportive and kind. The gym is super kid friendly and helpful with that as well

Jaqueline is an amazing trainer. knowledgeable, encouraging, and genuinely invested in helping people learn and improve. The education you receive here goes beyond just workouts; you actually understand what you’re doing and why, which makes a huge difference.
